Very nice except for the ugly Camaro tail lights.

Yea, everyone is saying Ferrari 599 body lines and Camaro tail lights. I just hope they would change the tails soon, but I won't have one for 10 years anyway so..... I might head out to the auto show this year and check them out.

Yeah they took the ugliest part of the new Camaro's and put it in the new Vette. The Corvette has had round tail lights since 1961, it should continue too in my opinion.

There is always time for change. I'll wait until the final production vehicle is released. Otherwise, I don't hate it like I hate the 5th Gen Camaro.

So there have NEVER been tweeks after initial Auto Show runs? Never? Again, I'll save my reservations until after I see it on the street.

EVERY comment about it leads back to the tail lights and it seems like most if not all people don't like it. Time will tell.

If you think they are going to retool everything in a month for a change I've got ocean front property in Austin to sell you... Maybe they change them in a couple years, yes, but the change over in Bowling Green has already happened, the molds are in place, what you see is what you get. It's not a concept, those happened about 4 years ago.

I like it. I think the front and side profile are amazing. Even the odd r35 roofline. I understand why people don't like the back end but I still think it looks cool. This car is all hard edges, round taillights just wouldn't work. The 7 speed manual with revmatching and the gauge cluster are both pretty baller too!

Can't wait another 2 years to see what the next z06/zr1 looks like.

Not crazy about the ass, but the more we see them the more you will get used to it. I kind of the like the edge they gave it, closer to concepts and a little more out there.

The unveiled base model version of this corvette with the 7 speed on GT5 that they released, runs about a 11.7 in the 1/4. Not too shabby.

Video game research ftw. :-p

Sounds like GM's ZL1 simulation #'s.

Sounds like GM's ZL1 simulation #'s.

Shows 463hp/6000rpm - 475tq/4500rpm and the car is still listed as a prototype on the game, so as far as the final production goes, these will fluctuate I'd imagine.

After doing some more "realistic" runs on stock tire, traction control off, manual shifting (because I have an awesome nerdy fucking racing chair) I was doing 12.5 @ 120 with loads of spinning in 1st gear.

Now switching over to slicks and launching at 5k rpm and traction control off, still doing manual, I was able to rip the 11.725 @ 121 with a tire change with hardly any spinning.

I can imagine this being fairly accurate to a flat point. Meaning, I bet this car depending on final production, would be able to achieve those times in a given range. And this would be the base model/7spd I'd imagine.

It would blow my mind if this car came out and the game can accurately reflect these numbers with similar changes and results.

Probably get a pretty good idea when GM discloses the weight. Flirting with 3,000?

Says 1500kg in game which translates to 3306.93lbs. So it seems its a bit heavier.

I had this idea for a c5, and someone decided they would try it on the c7.

haha, that was just so I could make use of the limited trunk space (in theory). Eric and I drove his c6 for a car show and there was just enough room for us and two bags for an overnight stay.

I think the C7 looks like a hot wheels car. They make it look pleasing for the 15-25 year old crowd when in fact the average buying age for a new Corvette is 56.

Hmm My C5 Z06 FRC must have more room then. I filled my with clothing for 2 for a 4 day weekend and then added a cooler for Thanksgiving weekend.

Very well could, Im not to familiar with the year to year changes. Sounds like its not much of a real sports car, so you should probably just leave it in my driveway.

FRC means Fixed Roof Coupe. It looks like a convertible but has a hard top. So I have a trunk lid. I wouldn't think it has any more room that a regular C5 or C6.

For the right price I'll leave it in your driveway.

Don't know for sure but I'll let you know what the in game gear and max mph is per gear. I'm pretty sure 6th and.7th are strictly for saving on mpg's

Caleb

All Speeds are at max RPM @ 6800

1st: 52
2nd: 75
3rd: 109
4th: 157
5th: 217 (ish)

6th and 7th, purely for cruising/non performance.
