Sioux City Rock-n-Rods

This is a newer event the city has started to put on. 2012 was the second anual. Basically they section off part of downtown and have a big car/bike/truck show, bands, food and 1/8 mile racing. It's usually a great time except for the heat. If you guys are interested you should come up to Sioux City for the weekend.

6hrs would be a long haul. Especially for 1/8 mile street racing, with no time slips or anything. There was one or two cars here from Texas lastyear and the red 5.3 turbo fox was from KC.

what do you drive 45mph?? I drive this all the time from marion takes 41/2 hours and thats with one or two quick stops..

About 3 hours from Des Moines via Mapquest so it would probably take 2.5 hours in reality. It says 4hr 45min from CR so 4hr 30min no problem.

They try to enforce a 10.0 ET cutoff for the racing.

I was going to buy it for the roller and dump the motor, I had talk to him personally, he told me what it ran, then the weekend he blew it up he called me to buy the roller but wanted like 12k for the roller and blown up motor, I passed.

yes it would. It's always nice to meet new people. I might add, one of the other rules is they do NOT allow nitrous due to insurance reasons.

In my z I drove from Sioux city to Fargo. Going 85-90. Averaged 28 mpg. ( not bad for 505 whp)

But drove one teams am back from St. Louis. Upper twentys mpg.

And drove another one back from Greensboro.

I LOVE picking up cars and driving back.

What's the longest trip you've made in your car? What kind of MPG did you get. Boxers or briefs?

i've driven it Illinois to revhard for iaf dyno day 2011, also driven it to cordova for rx7 club meet/track day. and 2012's longest trip was 90 minutes to cfr for the shootout.

i don't keep track of mpg's on it because its my weekend warrior and its always beat on. should be capable of 25ish mpg because it has a small cam and the same gearing and less weight than a corvette. but i'd have to be a fool not to have researched the mpg's of my daily driver suv before i bought it...18-19mpg's

as for boxer's or briefs, i have a sweaty jock strap on right now with a cup, and it itches. need to hop in the shower. was at the jiu jitsu club, i got choked pretty hard tonight, my throat hurts. if your in iowa city, let me know i'll get you into a couple free classes and you can try and choke me. ask dallas what happened when he took me up on a similar offer.
