I was contemplating going to the strip tomorrow at eddyville. I was just curious if anyone knew how strict they are about having a cage. I would be looking for 7.0-7.1's.

you would think 1/8th mile tracks would be a lot less strict

What are the rules. At what point is a track suppose to enforce a car having a cage?

Here ya go not sure how lenant they are although when i go quicker than the indexed 9:99 /6:49 there is usually a tech in my pit when i get back if I didnt show him my License and chassis cert in tech.
If you go quicker than 9:99 quarter mile/6:49 eighth mile you must make licensing runs & purchase an NHRA license as required by NHRA rules. Chassis Certification is mandatory on all entries 9.99 or quicker 1/4 mile or 6.39 1/8 mile and Other ET's apply by class.

I know what the NHRA rules are... running quicker than a 10.0 is a lot different than running faster than an 11.49 (7.49)

I haven't had any problems running low 7's at eddyville with no cage.
