245/50/16 nitto 555r's. They were hooking pretty well in the right lane. Left lane I could do a burnout all the way downt he track. Also my speed sensor is acting up so I can't use any type of launch control or boost by gear. If I can get that ironed out i'm pretty confident it will help alot.

those tires aren't bad for street tires but with a manual trans - need some 15" rims and a bias tire slick or dot cheater slick and you will see some dramatic time improvements as long as it doesn't bog, softer on the tranny and rear too.

Thats some really good information. Would you see some benefits with a 16 and a cheater slick or is a 15 pretty needed? I didn't know if I could get away with running stock 16 inch saw blades. Also do you stock or carry any cheater slicks? Thanks Ryan :)

the more sidewall you have the better, so a tall tire and smaller rim makes a good combo. plenty of people run 16's. The tires are so soft and sticky it probably won't matter for you if you go 16". but 15" is the standard and because its more common, more options/sizes/brands are available if you had 15" rims . summit has these cheap and light weight aluminum drag rims in lots of offsets and bolt patterns for around $100 each http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-521-5861PS/ . thats what i use at the track

I can get tires through a distributor but not direct . so my prices are kinda average but if you decide on one and I can look it up.

I am pretty sure i will be back down on the 29th with my car. Not sure about running on the 21st but i could be down to go with if everyone has thier car ready. I couldnt be more pleased with whati ran last weekend when we went as a small herd. Afterall, i did beat mat to win the Fast Four :-)

Damn good improvement Phish! That'd b a good race for the Rex, I don't think the truck would hang with that.

Tell me this.. How did you win the import class with a Chevy motor?

When you run the fast four you take your fastest slip to the tower. Then the fastest four trap speeds get in. When i turned in my slip i told them i was a mazda with a chevy motor. They called some guy up that was in charge and he said to put me in the sport compact class. Sooo... the story unfolds from there. Now i can use the "last time i ran in the sport compact class" excuse and hopefully do it all over again .

You don't know my friends!! LOL I have at least half a dozen friends on 150 or better. And an additional 2-3 on a 250 or better. The motors love it. :)

Yeah thats why "your friend" goes through motors daily. I think he has omahas junkyard number on speed dial. I may step it up once i get everything together and working properly, but for now i think it will sit at a hundered shot. I still need to track down some safety shit... like a window switch... would also like to run a plate instead of a nozzle

nitrous is so easy and cheap to buy, you get a lot of rednecks running it and they aren't careful. if you afr's , knock is under control you'll be with the group of people that don't have problems running 150 shot. could use high octane gas as a safety measure.

those 5.3's run like $500 at junkyards, you could probably even get $200-$300 out of parting out a blown one on the slight chance it goes.

At the moment i dont have a way to adjust timing. Or have a Air Fuel gague.... hence only wanting to run a hundred shot.

Theres quite a few of us coming from des moines tonight. They don't really seem to care about anything at eddyville to be honest. Last time I rolled through tech stopped long enough so they could put a number on my car.

I'll be there tonight...

Not in my car unfortunately. I literally need about another 5 hours to get my car track ready. And maybe an hour or so on the dyno just to be safe..

Regardless, I'll be there tonight if anyone wants an autograph or to buy me a beer :)

We will be there tonight. I was hoping to have my car done for this... I'm going to blame it not being done on too many coors lights.

Its funny how you go to the track as a group and everyone in that group has a tontally differnt experience as far as who they talk to and who they race. I talked to Aaron and his bro multiple times throughout the night along with some others i have not seen in awhile. .... Then casey told me he liked how i squat :-/

NICE. Eric and I stayed in CR and made up for the beer you couldnt drink while racing. Strap the front down and see how it goes.

It was nice seeing everyone that was out. Had a genuine good time.

And for the shootout, if I have half as many beers as last year, that will be plenty I'll be doing everyone a favor!
