Well I Won the 11 sec class in True Street this weekend at Joliet. Finished 7th out of 50 cars. Best pass was a 10.35 at 137 on sat, the stars were in line! Was able to get my 60's in the mid 1.50's. Not bad for being the second time to the track with this setup. Still having 2nd gear concerns. Trans will come out this winter and get fixed. Not sure I will keep it or send it down the road for an Auto.

You Ford guys keep your eyes open. My shit box will be a feature in MM&FF in the months to come. Overall it was a OK weekend. Car was shot on Friday nite. Mark spent a good hour and half with it. Sat was a whole lot of sitting around and only got to time runs. Sun was somewhat cool. On the 30 mile road trip we were able to hit the banks of Chicagoland Speedway. Good lord that track has some bank! Rolled in the drive at 2:30 am monday!

The wife tells me she cant belive the amount of people that stoped and looked at the car and wanted to talk about, Its just a Fucking Ford to her!

Eh, you're wife is right... It's still just a fuckin ford...

So did you have to hit the brakes every pass to stay in the 11's. Kinda like an 11.0 index race?

Thanks Guys! Yes It was a full time job just keeping the wife cool and happy. Yes it was HOT! but the thing was it did not seem as humid as it gets here. If you were In the trailler with a fan on you it was ok.

I really mean all thing went good on that 10.35 run. 60 was a 1.56. It went into second, which only happened 4 times out of the 8 runs over the weekend. I would love to push that trans up someones ass at Tremec. I tryed 4 times on sunday to get it to happen again. No luck!

My 3 runs were 11.40,11.00 and 10.70. When it came time for the 3 run I knew I need to be in the 10's to get the avarage down. I pulled 2nd at 5500 and it went and started pouring the coals to it. 7500 redline shifts the rest of the way.

BTW this was all done on a 325/50 Drag Radial. Cool weather and some slicks and it may run a high 9. Will most like have to wait to next year. The trans shifts fine for the street. That's were it will finish the year off.

One more thing. You might think 10.35 is fast/quick. NO! When you see the guys in Coyote Stock run it is slow! They have to weight in at 3250 lb. and have a sealed engine. The NMRA flash the pcm when they tech and dont get to touch it all race long. Justin at JPC went 10.80! Staight up driver and susp. class. Stock tubs and True S/S.

I talked to a few guys in the class. They run 4.88 in the rear with c-4 or 5 and 6 speed man. The one guy told me he leaves at 7200 rpm and shifts at 7700 with a redline of 7800. They are cool to watch! WHEELS UP!!! past the 60!

Those 6060/t56 magnums usually shift really good. I'd dump that spec 3+ and get something with a lighter disk or smaller twin disks in it and it should shift better. Auto would be nice for the track, but I just don't see it as being fun on the street. You don't want to start down the path of drag car again do you :)

Not with this car. I am sure this is the way it will stay. It just one of them things. When I want it to work I want it the work! I bought all new stuff so it would work like new! I can pin that thing in second and hit 3rd all day long! and 4th. If you have some time do a search on tr6060 and be ready to do so reading. Hell there is a 6 page long thread on Tremec's own forum that calls them out on there junk 2nd gear shift. I was also told about a 60 page on on some mustang site!

I have been having some concers with my T56 magnum and have been keping it to myself and Tremec and American Powertrain. Well I was just about to the end! Well lets just say one last e-mail to tremec went with no reply. So I sent it to American Powertrain and was able to get the Boss to call me back. Well He is going to do something about it! Thanks American Powertrain!

Well Fuck the people at Tremec! and just a little fuck off to the guys at American Powertrain. Tremec said the damage to the trans was abuse and wanted to point the finger at me and the clutch. BIG MESS!

Long story short! Trans is fixed and the new twin disc is in! After the first 50 mile road test all is well. Trans shifts great and that clutch is nice and light. Seems to release good too! Still have my skirt on and not sure I want to race it the rest of the year! Not being able to drive it for the last month and after a 10 min cruise. I love this car. IT IS SOOOOO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE!!

Bad thing is it needs another set of 325's!!!

What twin did you use?

BUCKETT

The clutch is from american powertrain. I am sure they have nothing to do with it and just get it from someone else. The flywheel was a billet steel for Mcleod and the clutch seems to LOOK ALOT like a Zoom twin disc or a Fidanza unit. Non sprung hub on both plates.
