Here are a few pictures from the last event, the track is technical and will challenge you. I know a lot of people hate on drifting, but its a far different experience from other motor sports. Or come along and watch if you are interested, I can give you a few rides through out the day if you wanna see what its all about. (Ride with up with me and split gas/hotel costs).

Is that an E30 with an SR20DET? Badass!

You can do it without trashing your car yes, just expect to learn slower. That genisis for example has been though 2 full seasons and it's still in great shape. My car however, I've been driving it for 6 years and don't have much regard for its condition ( but honestly its not horrible either for being nearly 25 years old ).

E30 does have an SR, Im not a fan of convertibles but I love that E30.

Tech is simple.

Basically have your battery strapped down. Cover positive terminals. Seat belts or harnesses installed correctly. Put a sock over your power steering reservoir and thats about it really. Make sure its not leaking a quart of oil every hour.

alright thanks. does a jerry rigged battery tie down work? lol

Chase
07-16-2012, 12:15 PM
Well how jerry rigged. Bungee cords no longer pass tech.

But as long as you have a battery, attached to a solid surface with a pretty solid strapping device you will be fine.

its braided wire cable that has a plastic coating. and goes through a loop/tie thing and i electric taped the hell outta it to make sure it wont move. they passed me at tech when i took it to the cedar falls drag strip.

I cant say forsure. Post a picture of it and I could probably tell you.

If you grab your battery and shake it, and it doesnt budge you are probably fine.
