I want to try and take the turd to the dyno to get her tuned. I talked to scott at H and W and he said to see what quick fuel says but I was wondering if anyone knew anybody who is good at tunning carbs. The emulsion bleeds are fixed but it does have changeable air bleeds other than that its just a normal quick fuel 1050 carb.

I have a good book explaining how a carb works with that knowledge and an lc1 and ssi4 it shouldn't be to bad.

I was mainly asking for the jetting part and reading spark plugs lets face it. When it comes to that stuff I have no experience. Tomorrow I'm getting the air bleeds figured out and I actually got one secret camshaft spec from the torque converter company of all things.

FYI dyno is open 8-12 on saturday so a 10.5 could pass through help and make enough money for the brown bottle for dinner.

if it was tuned with a laptop, i could take a look. only time i've tuned carbs was back in my motorcross days. maybe ask scott. you have a wideband?

well whenever I can find someone to help me read spark plugs. that video George posted dint teach much maybe its because I didnt see what it was pointing at. I am actually in no hurry cuz its too hot right now.

When your on the dyno use the wideband 02. You don't need to read plugs until your done tuning, just to verify each cylinder is at the same afr.

Why? Why waste time reading plugs between every run until your getting close to your target afr and timing. If you at 9:1afr and have low timing isn't it a waste of time?

No, IF you are starting tuning and that is where you are starting from on your way to your target.

I have a FAST wideband unit at idle its 21:1 and when I punch it, its 12.5:1

The purpose of me wanting to check my plugs is to get the jetting right. To the best of my understanding I got one time through the gears and that is all you get to check plugs. It tells ya good heat range and more or less jetting as for me. I just want to learn how to do this so I know for the future.

a lot of people wideband tune with nitrous. You talking direct port or single nozzle ?
