Been awhile. Figured it was time to upgrade the daily to something a little nicer with some get-up and go. Picked up a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC a few months ago in Chicago. I'm actually surprised at how much I enjoy driving this car and the gas mileage isn't half bad either. Future plans include a smaller pulley (probably 2.9), injectors, tune, and a different intake. Nothing too crazy for an A to B car. Here's a few pics I grabbed, I'll upload more later.

Working a 55 hour week, trying to stay in shape, and being an alcoholic limits my at home internet time.

I like it a lot. Has its get up and go, but I'm averaging 36-38mpgs crusin' 75-80 on the highway right now. Can't complain much.

I've always wanted to test drive one. I've sold some of my ls1 injectors to cobalt guys, they fit right in just need different harness connectors.

ZZ Performance has been making some pretty quick Cobalts and Ions.
They pushed like 898whp on the stock 4 cylinder just to see what it could hold.

Wait... what?

Did you just say your car gets 75mpg on the highway?

Read again. 36-38 mpg = Miles per gallon GOING 75-80 down the highway = Going 75-80 miles per hour.

All day long on the highway. In DSM my daily round trip to work is about 32 miles. That's about 50/50 mixed city/hwy. I usually average 32mpgs if I'm outta the boost during acceleration for my commute. When I make my trips back to CR is when I get my 36-38 depending on wind and other weather events.

*The key is to stay outta the high-boost range for good mpgs obviously, I'm usually making about 3-5 lbs under medium load which is my usual habit.

You are correct sir.

No its not? The LNF (newer turbo 2.0) has direct injection but the LSJ (the supercharged 2.0) doesnt

I guess your doing well above average then because http://www.fueleconomy.gov (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/) says 20mpg city, 23 combined, 27 highway for the 2006 2.0 cobalt

I don't trust those websites at all. Heck, my Trans Am gets about 25 on the highway with the slush-box and I think that might be rated at 20?...of course that's not running a factory tune. When I bought it I thought I'd be happy with 30. On the drive back from Chicago I got 36 which was impressive to me at least. I've changed the oil, air filter, and plugs since I really don't trust what other people say, just to be safe.

My bad. I knew the LNF was, I just assumed the LSJ was the same.

Kind of why I bought it, haha. I've got my 'slow' car already.
