View Full Version : Guess my ET

I'm going to CFR on Saturday, I hope.

A few of you guys were awful close in guessing what my turd made on the dyno... (501whp). How bout what she'll run in the 1/4?
I added cutouts and fixed a few dumb issues with the car. There was a HOLE in my intake tube after the MAF!
Carbon fiber made it so you couldn't see through it until you took it off.
I'm assuming those things got me a few more hp. It feels damn good now.

Anyways....
Last year I ran a 12.4@118 with a 1.99 60'.

I've since fixed the tune, fixed the intake, added launch control and no-lift-shift "box", added stage 1 driver mod, and got some better tires.
Had 315 NT05rs... now have 335 Hoosier DRs.
Also got rid of EGR and added long tube headers and X-pipe.
It feels a million times better and my driver skills have improved a ton.
It can actually hook in first gear on the street and no-lift-shifting saves a few tenths all by itself. (I shift like an old lady apparently).

What will it run?

Any tips?
I'll bring a cooler for ice for the blower and might even take the seat(s) out if it really comes down to it. I'm driving it there though. (Have some old street tires on other rims.)
I'm guessing if I can somehow pull a 1.7X 60' and not break anything, an 11.50 wouldn't be out of the question. It keeps up with stock-ish 600's pretty good.

Winner gets... ummm... some old NT05rs. 315/35/17. Bald as fuck.

I am betting low 11's if you hook well. I remember when these came out people were able to get them in the 12's with nothing but slicks.

I'm throwing out 11.509@122.5mph...and we need to grab a drink/put our hands in ice water again for free beer.

Way to hard to say with a stick car. Over 120 and in the 11's, everything else is practice, practice and more practice.

12.11 @ 119.7 but with nlts working and good weather on a iced down blower I could see 120+ but I dont think the drag radials are gonna hook very well, they seem to like the rough texture of concrete better than a smooth track even if it does have some rubber down. I hope Im right I could use some drag radials on my cobra!

CFR Hooks like glue as long as your not racing there on a midnight mania day where the street tire cars and 4x4 trucks are tearing up the track.!

Just seemed a 11.3 was a bit quick ET for only 125 mph in a stick car with only 1.7x 60ft. But then again im use to going 1.3s on the back tires and Getting my ET's with less mph.

Its going to be during the day. I'm done going to a night event and trying to actually get a decent time.

As long as it runs in the 11s, I won't go home disappointed. Considering how horrible my only clean pass last year was, it should be easy.
There is a decently long list of IRS, 6 speed cars running the Eaton blowers in the 10s with roughly the same mods as me. Although it could definitely use a legit dyno tune.

Get it in the 11's with granny shifting, Its a street car! who needs no lift a shift? never used it and wont i'm a believe its harder on your trans then lifting. just my opinion though.

The N2MB WOT Box has a built in no-lift-shift feature that retards timing while its floored and you tap the clutch. Makes it much easier to no-lift-shift.

Well then you should run faster, since its more like Auto then a stick car. If not you need driver mod! LOL

Both but I don't run slicks. I think it may just be because it's the beginning of the year.

Thanks a lot!

I usually ruin my day at the track by expecting something and running a lot slower. Those were the days in the Regal!!
I'll try not to do that this time.

I think we've all been there before. Seeing what other cars with the same mods are doing really gets peoples hopes up.

I think you've got a good chance at 11's good luck!

yeah those cobra you read about on the internet running 10's with a eaton and all this stock stuff is not a fair comparison. They go to some great lengths and run at alot better tracks, lower altitude, tons of practice etc. I always tell myself if I dont slow down its a win, sometimes its hard enough to keep it together for any length of time as you know. I hope it does run in the 11's for ya though, if your close than wait for it to cool down alot, use ice, jump the intercooler pump, and unbolt everything you can!!

Dont listen to Jessie, shift it like it owes you money! If you drive it to the track its fair game, ask hotrod magazine

Today wasn't a very good day for Test and Tune at CFR... they were very busy.

Anyways, I ran 12.00, 11.95, 11.90, 11.87 with one random shitty 13.0 thrown in there somewhere from wheel hopping so bad I missed 2nd.

Best pass was 11.877@119.40 with a 1.79 60'.

I got faster every pass but had to wait at least an hour in between each. She needs a legit tune and more boost.
I'm happy with the outcome though. Went .6 faster than last year with 5psi less boost.

I forgot to mention this was on a pump gas tune and street trim.
I was going to remove the seat and whatnot, but it seemed pointless.
I threw in some 110 race gas on the last pass, but couldn't do anything with the tune because timing is maxxed out on my handheld and Lund refuses to give me more timing. :(

I actually drove home in "track trim" because I didn't feel like putting street tires back on and I couldn't find my damn lug nut key anyways.
Street car!!! lmao

Good deal man. I'm glad u got a decent 60'. Those hour cool downs probably helped you out, it just sucks waiting that long in the lanes.

You and I would be a good race!

My best at CFR is 11.8 at 119mph with a 1.80 60ft.

So was the car just spinning off the line or bogging?

Wow, that would be a close race!
Actually, it might have bogged a little bit, but I wasn't too far off from just dumping the clutch and going. Launch control retards the timing for a fraction of a second. I started at 3k rpm and moved up to 3500-ish when I finally got a 1.7 60'. Given more time, I coulda gone a little faster, but not too much in the current state. I'm awaiting an update to my tune so I can drop a pulley size...
