what kind of prices have you guys fibbed on when reporting your new purchase price of a used vehicle to the Iowa dot and do they ever look into it? I have a friend that wants to know ;)

I usually claim about half. Even on a $12k truck.

Well on the supra i payed 37k and told them it was 5k BAHAHA I allways screw them but if you get a loan you cant Lie.

Told them $400 on my 88 that booked at like $3500, didnt look into it

with all my cars i usually tell them 300bucks. but theyre civics so thays what theyre actually worth haha

i have never told them more than $200 and i have probably registered 50+ cars in the last few years. Some worth $2k-$3k and some worth $10k+. When i registered my '03 SuperDuty, i told them $200 (as always) didnt say a word about it.

They have made comments once in a great while but i will always come back quickly with some BS. Like, it has a bad engine, or someone vandalized it and it needs paited, etc... They really dont give a shit
