Yea 130mph is moving for a 11.8 timeslip. My talon's 11.8 was at 119mph. cmart ran a 10.3 @ 130 . I think eddy b ran a 9.9x @ about 130 . you might lost a few mph with slicks but your time should be a lot better, ... unless you bog

yeah honda's are like that...there like bikes you go fast by learning too ride...im still not happy with my 11.3@127mph...hopefully the bigger slicks will help

Ray, that was 2 of my first 3 runs ever in that car. It had just gotten off the dyno a few days earlier, and the anti-lag still is not set up to this day. I was on a limiter at 7500 and was building 1-2 lbs. On the anti-lag, it should make 7-10 without a problem. I bogged hard on the first run, and that 3rd pass was a lot better, but there is still at least another .2 in the first 60. I am running MT 24.5x8x13's. After I get the twin disk in it this winter, I will be hitting the 3rd gear burnouts, 2nd was not providing enough heat. A different suspension setup will surely help the 60's as well.

I think my talon was the only car I ever et'd correctly for my trap haha, Ran 12.7@107mph in it, ended up running 14.0@113mph though in it with more tuning/boost, had to skip 2nd gear though due to shift fork issues.

Otherwise my laser and my firebird each were basically hondas haha. The laser ran 11.7@123mph due to spinning the all-seasons on a cold midnight mayhem and the firebird ran a 12.9@111 but a best of 13.0@114mph - had lovely 3.08 v6 gears my cam hated + street tires.

So many supras/hondas you see running great mph's but ET'ing bad due to how hard it is to get the power down. Although I think that's more for hondas, I'm not really sure what holds supras back so much, I'm sure someone more knowledgable on them can educate me though haha.

What did you use for tires? Very good times I'd say for not running the 1/4 mile often in the car. The bad thing about here is I don't know if track prep will be better or worse than what you had down there.

I have 26x11.50 ET Streets. I think track prep can be just as good or better here because alot of guys were haveing traction problems down there, its not a big track and its got a short shutdown area.

LOL no actually off 2step and transbrake at 4500 rpm at about 6 to 8 psi off the line I am still trying to get a good 60ft still in the 1.40s its a fine line between getting out of the hole and going up in smoke off the line, still figuring it out.

Sweet. I think the glide is helping keep it together and not getting really deep with the 60ft. Not sure if anyone makes a glide tailhousing that bolts to a c6z/zr1 diff either. Car has the power to run lower 8's with a strong 60ft so....

That being said, after the frist pass something was fishy..... turns out I now have some nice rod knock and and just now getting home from getting the car (430 AM) Made Three passes... 11.914@117.77 11.915@117.50 and 12.112@ 112.88 I could tell that thigns were getting progressively worse and the runs went on. Finally the last pass the motor decided to let me know it was pissed with some excessive knocking. Live and learn i suppose. All will be well come spring time i hope.

Any of you guys have a problem like this again are welcome to bring your car out to my house. It's safe and sound only 10min from the track or so and on the way back to Des Moines.

Were you running those times NA? I can't remember what your exact setup was. Let me know if you have any questions on the engine unless you are just going to drop another boneyard motor in :)

were you spraying phish ? sorry to hear about your motor issue. just bad luck, those are normally solid. i was running my stock ls1 still, just aftermarket cam, springs, pushrods, trapped 139mph and no issues. clutch is done for though.

I can't believe it held on the last pass. We were trying not to make it obvious though. It's a organic ACT so a little out of it's comfort zone. I'd say try a more agressive disk and see if it drives ok or step up to a twin.

I know exactly why it happend and its totally my fault. I can accept that. Those times were on a 100 shot. The car had so much more in it. That fastest pass everything that could have went wrong did. Thats why when i knocked off the second pass almost perfect and got the same time, i knew the motor was having some issues... then when I cranked off that last pass and everything was so off time and MPH wise i know it was in the bag. As far as why it happened. I was trying to get way to much out of that car and pushing it way to far. I figured why not give it a go. Long story short, To Little gear, to small tire, To much RPM and N20 does not go well in the Quarter.

Just an FYI six cars came up with us and 3 returned home on trailers, plus Josey drove his home on one axle and Jordan partially lost his brakes on the way home....

Ryan added some mph with the old stock engine/turbo setup, but didn't imporve et wise with the solid axle. Car is stiff as hell out back and needs quite a bit of tweaking to get right I'd say. I guess geting a SRA swap done the day before the event might not be a great idea, but thats life :)

That was a good race. Probably the closest of the day. I am still somewhat frustrated because the nitto nt05r's started off working but the last two runs they wouldn't hold second gear. My fault for using 2 1/2 year old tires that are almost bald. Next year I will be on a set of slicks like everyone else. Either way it was fun.

I remember that and Thanks. It is a 406 with afr210's and a victor junior. The cam is similar to the comp cams extreme energy 292 solid roller. I am still leaving some power on the table with the current setup. It would do better with better flowing heads and bigger cam. I wanted to keep it pump gas so its running 11:1 compression. The headers are modified schoenfelds to clear the road race pan kickouts and pypes X-pipe with borla xr1's. The tranny was built by six speed inc. Spec stage 3+ clutch with fidanza flywheel and b&m ripper shifter. Strange 9" with 3.90 gears. The suspension is more for handling and will have some new parts this winter. that should cover the basics! I am thinking when the 406 dies I will end up going turbo LS, but still haven't decided. I really like the sound it has right now and I may just end up building something bigger like a 434.
