Last August a few of us went out to ohio for the 19th annual dsm/evo shootout. I raced in the max effort class which combines auto x and drag strip. The auto x course was pretty basic, I ended up with fastest time overall in auto x. The second day was drag racing where I ran a personal best of 11.5 @120. I took home the runner up for my class. Look forward to racing again this year.
I'm not very good at editing.

pretty cool class combining autox and drag racing, i can see that being very key to car setup

I think some guys just do both, but they are not related. Some guys like the turns most go for the strip though. I ran the first time ever at Norwalk back in 98'. 1.7 60 wasn't bad back then. Sully and Steveo were even with me.

No it is a class called max effort, they have to run the same tires and same driver does both races, the autox and drag racing times are combined and the fastest time wins.

i also heard that buschur was going to get rid of solid rears or something for the drag racing, which is why he put like a 3000gt rear in his 1g for this year...or something like that.

The car should be a little faster this year if all goes well. I plan on making a couple pass down the track and hopefully get my time down to where it should be. My car is more setup to turn than go straight. I will say that most that competed in auto x were not that good. I def shouldn't of won the auto x portion.
That was the second run of the drag and my camera died on my 3rd and fastest pass of 11.56@120.
I am looking forward to a full auto x course this year. I think its going to be a lot tougher competition though.

I don't think that will happen. It would take out a lot of cars in the Q16 class.

he had shown some possibilities towards doing it if he got enought people bitching about it. its all in his 1g build thread. i highly doubt he would exclude the top half of the q16 class though.
