apperantly i lost my old account on here so i figuare i might as well get my post count up on my new one heres what ive been working on

well this isnt my main project but it is something i planned on getting back eventually and finally did. some of these pictures i have posted before but i decided i would just do a whole build thread so they are all togeather

The car- 89 Mustang Lx has been Mystichrome, BMFL's, and Ubers, car i owned it for 4 years and got rid of it for a year or two and got it back about 2 or 3 months ago

car never had alot of attention in the cosmetics department everything seemed to be kind of halfassed on that section of it, performance it ran good for what it was, a pretty wore out bottom end with heads cam and intake it went 12.5 at 110

after i got this car back the guy i sold it to had stripped the interrior to put a cage in :( and starting to do body work any ways here goes alot of pictures

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a141/jacksheadache/joeystang4.jpg

this is the car before i sold it, the picture does make it look pretty good, but whoever painted it didnt do a very good job

so now that it was painted i decided you know... the engine bay really really looks like shit, someone at sometime took a hammer to one of the strut towers to make it clear something it looks like, and the engine bay was still white from the origional paint job, so i decided id pull the motor and make the engine bay look nice also, and clean up the wiring too since theres not one clip holding it up.

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r539/KobleTsi/engine%20bay/2011-12-16174409.jpg

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r539/KobleTsi/engine%20bay/2011-12-27150703.jpg

my biggest complaint about the car was always this strut tower, so i figuared...its painted outside and this would turn someone off of ever buying the car if they wanted it so i decided to lay some glass down not bad for my first time.

of course i couldnt leave the tired 302 in there, so i ended up pulling grass' old shortblock out of my corner and decided to throw that in the car. specs are tfs heads tfs2 cam edelbrock intake 2500 mile forged 306, and 12 psi through a 70mm turbo also found some engine paint that matches the car very nicely

heres the motor process

Koble
01-22-2012, 08:17 PM
Just the 70 trim turbo (then sell it) most parts have less teiohen 10 miles on them for suspension and everything else under 5k

-90/10s
-eibach drag launch springs
-subframe connectors
-3:55 gear
-2 walbro 255 pumps
-60lb injectors
-trick flow heads
-tfs 2 cam
-edelbrock performer intake
-forged 306 lower end
-moroso 7 qt pan
-QA1 k member
-Solid mounts
-Aluminum driveshaft
-Pulleys
-King cobra clutch
-pro 5.0 shifter
-bbk 70mm throttle body

im sure theres more but it gives you an idea, car should run tens i would think after turbo.

Looks real good man, what are your plans with it?

Koble
01-22-2012, 08:30 PM
just to sell it or cut the cage out and let my wife drive it

AutoMods
01-22-2012, 10:51 PM
why all the work and then selling it?

KobleTsi
01-22-2012, 10:55 PM
biggest reason is the other guy put in a cage, i delivered pizzas in a car with a cage for a year and i swore id never have a street car with a cage... and the car wont ever be what i wanted it to be when i origionaly owned it, thats the problem with getting rid of your shit then getting it back later

AutoMods
01-23-2012, 10:20 AM
if you like the car, wouldn't it be easier to cut the cage out or turn the cage into a 5 point cage with removable drivers door bar? I wouldn't think you could get your money back out of it after spending that much time on the paint work.

I'm not really sure what I will have into the car id like to get 6500 out of it when its done, I don't even want the swing out door bars, ill probley end up getting rid of it and maybe buying a 300zx or an older mustang I'm up in the airb I've got 3 in depth mustang projects going so idk

You shouldn't have a problem getting $6500 out of it. Slap it up on ebay with a dyno sheet and it's as good as sold.

Well I was bored earlier and read this, well one of my customers cam in talking about how twenty years ago he had bought a big POS mustang from Dj auto (I hate him) and how he dumped alot of money of it and would love to have another one if the price was right. I showed him this thread and well he is very interested. So when your done PM me and I will give him your number.

KobleTsi
01-23-2012, 07:09 PM
well thanks and if he ends up buying it i'd throw you something for a finders fee. i do have one other guy that wants to take a look at it on the 27th

Deimos

KobleTsi

Well, when i first got the car (the first time in 05) it had brand new carpet put in it, i decided that i would start throwing the interrior back in it i havent touched the inside of the car since i got it back... so i had no idea what to expect heres a picture of what i had to dig through and get out this is after about 20 mins of cleaning it, the seats were full to the headrests of just random shit, ill have to rip apart a parts car somewhere this thing has screws all over the place and i know where none of them go.

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r539/KobleTsi/Interrior/2012-01-24174211.jpg

spent about 30 mins vacuming the carpet after i got it all unrolled... i then noticed there was a hole that shouldnt be there i brought it up to the guy i sold it to and he said he didnt do it, and he said it wasnt like that when he pulled it out, i havent even looked at anything on the inside cause it was so packed with random crap before this. idk of a way to fix it without getting new carpet

That is a really random spot for a section of carpet to be missing.

i was in the garage when you texted that picture to me, i was confused!! I could not think of any reason for carpet to be missing there...? Thought i still had some black carpet for a fox but i looked and couldn't find it. Might be in storage, i will let you know.

This is to you like the fiero is to me. Sell it in pretty nice shape, get it back and want to smack the shi out of the guy who ruined it!

yeah, that would be great if you do. if not ill probley order new this weekend.

everyone is a bodyman/mechanic when it comes to mustangs gotta love it.

yes, it is the tunnel on the passangerside, i dont really understand why it would be missing there but someone actually took there time to make sure the cuts were straight... the center council was just in there to see if somehow it would get covered up, deffinatly not.

also i had all decent grey interrior, idk what the deal with it is its got 3 different colors, i had an armrest delete and he put the council back in there. also had a rear seat delete in it and idk if something spilled on it but it was all rotted and everything so ended up having to throw that away... interested to see how smoothley the interrior goes back togeather and whats all missing

i guess the thing that gets me is the guy didnt even put any miles on the car, i almost wonder if he didnt just take and swap interriors from another car, i know atleast a few of the pannels arnt the same the interrior now is 4 different colors, it was pretty nice before hand heres the only pic of interrior i have before hand sorry its so crappy
http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j289/Koble927/100_0511.jpg

im going to be ordering new carpet in the next few days so hopefully it comes soon but having the rainbow panels i decided i would have to paint them... im not sure what to expect it seems to look good so far, but we will see if it holds up. either way it looks better then it did once i got it back
