04 srt4

hi guys just wanted to make a post about a car i just got not to long ago ( and becuase sherman told me i should). i picked up a 04 srt4. its basically all stock other than a catless downpipe and an agp wastegate. i plan on putting it in the street car shootout, and more hopefully. workin on getting pics to post just cant get any to work as of right now haha

From what I've seen in Cedar Rapids, there is, my red SRT, mcvay's, and another black SRT, and 2 electric blue SRT's. I might see one of those srt's driving around maybe once a month, if not longer.

well today was a little depressing... put the car on the dyno today out at nordstrom... car only made 220hp/258tq. i wasnt expexting alot, but thats what it makes stock..

I would have loved to get my car dyno'd, however, I had to work. My brothers Mach 1 put down 295hp/325tq wheel which is right at stock. I would take a guess its around 350hp/375tq for mine, but damnit, work gets in the way of the fun stuff.

Manufacturers ratings are generally BHP, and you are making those numbers at the wheel. Usually wheel horsepower is a lower number than flywheel horsepower due to parasitic loss in the drivetrain, so you are making more Whp than a stock car would.

Manufacturer's specification when the SRT-4 was released was 230 hp (170 kW). However, several independent tests have produced results indicating that the SRT-4 produces more power than the manufacturer claims. The estimated flywheel power is to be around 265 hp

quoted from wikipedia, so even if the fwd had a 12% drivetrain loss thats still 234.

Assuming your car is one of the higher producing cars. No 2 cars make the same power. What were you expecting? Do you have mods since your original post?

I have a rewire fuel pump, a handheld, and an open downpipe.
On srt forums with a rewire fuel pump and the handheld its usually around 250you hp/270 tq

I think thats pretty good numbers, the Downpipe might hurting more than say a full nice catback being your small turbo is losing some steem and needed back pressure in the higher RPM's. Does the handheld make more boost? it needs a nice intake to if you havent allready.

i have a lc1 for a wideband. the boost is turned up, and like i said im not surprised overall by the numbers. compared to another srt with the same mods yes it is a good 20 hp 30tq less. but i also have quite a few bugs still to work out (which if anyone has a boost leak tester i could use i would be very appreciative :biggthumpup:) they arent neccesarily big problems, just things that need taken care of.
and yes i have knock sensors, on the diablosport i can datalog my short term and long term knock and watch total knock retard
