Sounds like somebody got paid off to me. Their best answer "it's the driver's fault"? Gimme a break. I didn't know they were outsourcing to China. The trans in our Cruze is made in Germany. I'm not exactly thrilled with it.

Thats a load of BS. So, its ok to buy a Mustang, but not OK to use the 412hp. Its about time they get some components to handle the power otherwise the Camaro will start looking better and better to consumers.

Its fixed now I don't see the issue?

No OEMs have ever denied warranty claims on performance vehicles for abuse... right

Even though it is fixed, I would still be upset considering what some of these people paid for the car. Some people have trouble shifting even under normal driving situations.

It's not like it's just one little problem. There's multiple issues from the sounds of it. And when it can't be explained, it's put off on the customer's driving habits. Not trying to make the a Ford vs Chevy argument. If I had these issues with my car and the dealer told me they aren't doing anything because it's the way I'm driving it, I'd tell them they can have the car back and I'd be buying something else. If I was Ford, I'd be bitching to Getrag. It seems that newer cars, Chevy included ( I know from personal experience. The six speed auto in our Cruze drives me nuts when I'm wanting to get somewhere in a hurry. ), are putting more emphasis on fuel economy than reliability, especially when it comes to transmissions. Smaller lighter gear assemblies, thinner cases, crazy weird TCM tunes with shift points that make no sense, etc. Problem is, they're shoving these lightweight transmissions behind bigger hp engines and expecting them to act the same. Then when they don't, their excuse is "you're driving it too spirited". I'm sorry, isn't that why I bought it over the Fiesta?

I agree it is shitty but this is in no way a new thing from OEMs. This along w/ the fact that the issues have been sorted out makes it a non-issue IMO

This is where I disagree. Saying it's the driver's fault isn't "sorting it out".

There are TSBs and they are now being fixed under warranty...

How do you fix what has been diagnosed as a driving habit?

After the true issue was found the "abuse" diagnosis was rescinded and they were fixed. At least thats how the cases I've read about turned out.

Our mailmans 08 ford fusion. Cam and crank shift was out of sync reflashed the pcm. It fixed the liught and the trans started shifting like poop. Sad part is can't communicate with TCM...

Any word on what GM did about that? I don't follow the 5th gen stuff at all. But yeah that is stupid. Although I would rather have the air bags deploy than have my DS disintegrate at 120+ MPH.

Not sure what the v6 guy thought would happen. There's a limiter at 117 for a reason.

Not surprised at all. It failed while operating outside the parameters it was designed for. Anymore cars are engineered to meet a set of parameters at the lowest cost. Its business.

Not surprising a Ford product, designed by Germans and produced and assembled by China didn't work out perfect. ;)

Attempting to stir the pot?

The Camaro is based off of the Australian designed Zeta platform and built in Canada does that mean something?

The Charger/Magnum/300C is based off of an old Mercedes platform and is built in Canada does that mean something?

The Mustang is based off of an American designed and American made platform does any of this shit mean anything? No, fact is they went with the cheapest option and got fucked. It happens in the auto industry, people could just switch to the TR6060 and just be done with it, yes that will destroy your warranty but it wont be shitting out transmissions anymore. Any way you look at it each pony car has its plus and minus, who really gives a shit which one is better than the other? They are all pretty neat cars in their own way. LSx vs Coyote vs Hemi they all have impressive engines, I guess Ford just cheaped out on the tranny.

check out my sig ;)

Canada is different than the shit the chinese have been producing. Mustangs back in the day were half made in mexico and the blocks are the most sought after factory 302/351. That's why the camaro first had out put shafts snapping like twigs, junk chinese metal. Unfortunately, to make a 35k 412hp mustang, corners needed to be cut, that shows up. Luckily though, Ford listens to there customers and corrects for the next year.

I was just making an observation that was funny to me. :)
