Well might as well post some pics and info on our 370z. Got this next years parts allready on it and its back home now from the shop. all it needs is a quick dyno tune in April to add a little more power. heres what we did:
Injen Cold air intake
Stillen Street Oil Cooler
Megen Catless Downpipes
Agency Power Cat-back
Megan Street Coilovers
Hoping for 300-320whp on the Dynojet (not bad for a 3.7L NA)

That's a clean, simple setup, should be a good all around car! Needs some wheelz!

Everyone says it needs spacers, alot of guys do it, I might. Its needs aligned now bad. And Colton it sounds ok, a little louder than I thought but hofully after some driving it will quiet down a bit. Hard to get away from raspy sounds of a V6 when there is no turbos.

That engine bay looks bare without those stock intake boxes.
Should make for a fun driver!

how was the fitment on the parts right out of the box? any adjustments needed?
Jappbox
12-18-2011, 09:48 AM
fitment was good, everything went like it should, if anything the Stillen oil cooler instructions sucked and the lines are way to long. but all the stuff you sold me ryan was perfect. incase you sell more I recomend the injen intake and those downpipes for the money are the best all around. The Agency Catback in not 100% on. its not the best sounding out there but prob the best for the money.

Let me know if and when you want an alignment?
Jappbox
12-18-2011, 10:36 AM

You planning on mocking a set up ?
Deimos

sears and yes it will fit. If Tony's camaro fits anything can fit unless you lowered it severely

its pretty low, worst is the black plastic on the lower front bumper cover. but thats still about 3.5 inches off the ground, i might need some blocks if the alignment is in the air and not in a pit.

no, just getting feedback on the brands I sell. Megan sources a lot of stuff in china but they seem to be a lot better than most of the other china companies. just keeping tabs on them.

Wife, you were at the wedding!
She might, and she might not. might take it to tristate and let her get some more seat time with it though.

I figured thats why you asked. fitment was good for megan products. I did have issue with the Factory bolts on the down pipes, 2 of them ended up snaping in half stupid Factory tightens stuff way to tight. its only got 1100 miles on it and factory bolts wont come off without breaking? crazy tight on exhaust bolts

It's from heat, expansion and contraction on slightly lower grade bolts then regular. Not that they are over-tightened from factory.
Jappbox
12-19-2011, 06:39 PM
that could be part of the issue, crazy though with no rust and 1000miles things break trying to take it off.

2 bolts on my down pipe seized and broke on my genesis. It had 800 miles on it lol. It's just crap factory bolts and expansion/contraction. Pisses you off huh lol

yes plus had to use a big ass breaker bar with a 4 foot extension to get to this bolt from under the hood, then they Break, scares the shit out of yea!

Most of that stuff would have come off it heated first. Did you guys try that before they broke?

Took my downpipe off right after driving the car on purpose so the metal would be warm. Didn't work. Let it cool down and broke another. Happens to like every genesis owner I guess, i'm sure the 370 is no different.

IDK I'd rather heat the bolt/threads with the torch rather than the whole unit as I'm sure the flange will expand more keeping everything tight. Hard to say without trying one myself. Welcome to the world of supply managment, companys maximize profit any way possible.

Idk never had a bolt snap on my evo. All my BMW's bolts come out like cake. Yea it's cheap manufacturing. Sucks.

Seems random, Suby never broke a bolt, DSM I never even broke a bolt. If the impact gets involved, then I do but thats my own impatience. OH, suby did have one issue, dealer I bought it from said he put in new 02 sensors, when I went to remove it, I had to take it out in peices, and still owe ATS a new socket, because it is one with the old 02 sensor now.

Jeeze I don't even want to talk about broken bolts.
The talon I broke 3 out of the 4 bolts from the manifold->turbo. Also broke a bolt inside the crank pulley. I even had PB blastered crank pulley.
I broke a bunch of minor bolts in the laser during last winter.
I broke off every bolt holding the bumper on my 1.8 Eclipse on the sides, but I made my own fix for that.
Broken bolts suck. I didn't have any bolts break on my LS1, for my person bolt breaking issues I think it's just me and my old cars.

I broke 2 exhaust manifold studs on my evo with it only being a year old. I guess its luck of the draw on what bolts snap and what dont. I also broke 3 studs off on a 04 STI when it was brand new after heating with a torch and using PB blaster, seems to be all exhaust bolts we all break.

Yea just the extreme heated bolts it seams. The main problems is when you have steel bolts going through cast iron parts. The iron expands a lot differently then the steel bolts which cause them to bind.
ANYWAYS the 370z looks good Jesse. I know those Z's can get a bit raspy but a muffler change and/or some resonators put in might clean it up a bit. Lemme know if you want/need any of that.

its got a small resignator in the megan downpipe, one in the catback, and a muffler but its still a little raspy. stupid NA car!! well drive it for a while and see if it quiets down.

"breaking in" the mufflers will only make the sound worse. You need longer mufflers with more packing to quiet down the high pitch frequencies. You should load up a video of it idling/revving. It can't be that bad!

Seems like the more power they make from the vq's the raspier they get. Welcom to the world of high compression NA stuff.

Or a helmholtz resonator tuned to the proper frequency. Sometimes resonated tips can help with rasp also.

Im in for a video of the exhaust. These newer v6's can sound pretty exotic IMO if done right.
BTW I got both turbos and exhaust manifolds off an old vr4 engine that had sat outside forever without breaking any of the bolts, studs, etc. Just used a torch, pb blast, and patience.
