Here is an idle video with some rev ups later on.

Wasn't super cold out.... but about 30 degrees. Decided to roll my car out of the garage this morning and let it sit outside for 6 hours to see if e85 is actually finicky in the winter. I'm still running on summer e85 thats not diluted e70 stuff that gas stations use to help cold starts.

I was a bit surprised it didn't fire sooner. But haven't started to car for two weeks so maybe that also contributed.

Tune hasn't been touched since the summer. Open loop, speed density tune. Didn't touch the throttle.

just for shits, timed how long the turbo spun during shut off, 46 seconds with a throttle blip before shutoff. Spun for 40 seconds off just idle with no blip. not bad for a basic t-series journal bearing no thrills turbo that I can hook you up with for a measly $700 , good for 800ish hp.

Have you tested your Ethanol content from the pump this month? I recently emptied my tank and got E90 out of it. Last time I had filled it was Mid September. Looked/smelled great. I went to K&G and picked up another 5 gallons to pour in the tank (tracking down a problem that I thought was fuel related) Tested it before I poured it in. E80. That was last week.

Man was there a chevy 2500 revving near it ;)

How are you storing it for the winter? Be careful with it, methanol, ethanol, alky is hygroscopic.

I filled this tank over a month ago but I need to refill it soon and I will retest the e85.

Just planning on storing it in the gas tank. If the winter stays warm like it is now I'll keep burning through it. But I do inject water/meth right into the throttle body so not sure if a little water in the tank will hurt.

Usually it's not a big deal since winter time has really low humidity and it's only for a few months. But say it if sat for a year, water goes to the bottom and starts rusting fuel lines and tanks. They do sell an additive if you felt you needed it.

Rev sounds weird on camera. I could smell E85 watching the video, smell memory is funny.

awesome, if I just touched one person's life, it was worth it.

forgot you had a e-cutout. I'll have to write that down in case we have to negotiate a grudge match in the future.

So are you not going to be ready in the spring? Wish I would have gotten video when I went and moved my car out of the shop when it was cold out..
