after i read that article i started running brad penn, im not a total believer but it probably won't hurt to run it and costs around the same as other synthetics. you going to run in the shootout this year ryan?

I will probably run on street tires. I need to get back on the dyno and see what the 6765 really has in it. 22 made over 500hp, I think 30 psi should get right around 600hp.

I read a test done on oils once, and it was comparing oil for use in Motorcycles. Yamalube tested worse than mobil 1. Now I need to know what I should run in my bike next year.

Amsoil does rank pretty high up there with all the turbo crowd. From Evo's to Supra's. The go to oil seams to be Amsoil or Brad Penn

I've always ran VR-1 valvoline because its cheap but I change it ALOT then run the used oil in the daily driver. But I've heard good things about Brad Penn and diesel oil but diesel oil wasnt quite thick enough for my clearances "IMO"

Ya I've read several reviews and comparisons over the last few years andp Mobile 1 keeps getting worse and worse. I believe someone was telling me AMS did a oil review comparing turbo wear that was pretty revealing.

I was told by some shops that Mobil one for Turbo Diesel oil is the best for the E85 guys. It lasts the longest before breaking down from the Ethanol.

I use the Motorcraft synthetic blend 5w-20. Really.

I change it literally every 500-800 miles or after going to the track.

I honestly think its just an excuse to get under the car more often to look things over as much as anything..

Royal Purple in the trans and Amsoil in the rear, however.

Thats the thing that nobody ever thinks about. Bearing clearance, pressure loss from turbos, balance shafts, oil squirters, etc), oil pump volume, etc. all play a part in what weight to run. The racing oils are the best for high pressure additives, but usually have a shorter service life as a trade off. I'd run the racing type oil in any high hp track car that gets serviced a decent amount.

I use rotella t6 5w40 in my vette, audi and superhawk. It's a decent oil that has a ok additive package, long service life and good value. I change oil twice a year in the truck and audi (around 4-5k miles). Vette and bike only once. If it's a daily driver car running off the shelf synthetic and you change it more than every 6 months or 5k (even more in some cases) it's almost a waste.

my BMW uses some specially formulated BMW oil that meets all kinds of criteria. Apparently it's awesome oil and doesn't cost anymore then Mobil1 so that's what I run. Kind of an exception when the OEM manufacturer recommendation is good.

Rotella "or diesel oil" is the way to go if it fits the application IMO. I've heard alot of top guys are running it and its pretty dam cheap too
