I have been shopping around for a Ford 2.3 so I can keep myself occupied over the winter with a project. I essentially have everything I need sitting around to build a stout turbo engine but no block to put all the goodies into. Catch is that it has to be an 89 or older engine, preferably 87 and older so that it will work with my rotating assembly. So if you have happened to swap one out to put in a V8 at any point and have no idea what to do with it shoot me a message with what I am working with and what you want for it. Not worried about any issues so long as the block itself is ok and most of the parts are there. This way I can keep my SVO's stock VIN matched engine from getting destroyed.

As previously stated. I am looking for a 2.3...The SVO never came with a V8 and I will never put one in it. The 2.3 Turbo engine is very responsive to mods and actually has a higher HP threshold than the 5.0 before the block gives way. I have no interest in building another 302.

Theres a few 2.3L turbo mustangs sitting on a fence line outside of Praireburg on lower P. I've stopped out there a while back to ask about the xr7s or something hes got sitting out there.. I'll stop out there again and see if he'll come off one of the mustangs... they've been sitting a long time.

The problem is that people with the factory turbo engines think they have a gold mine sitting in the engine compartment, while guys who have the N/A engines cant seem to give them away. I am not looking to spend $500 on an engine, more like $100 or less. The thing alot of people do not realize is that the 89 and earlier blocks are essentially all the same, the key differences from turbo to NA long blocks being that the turbo has forged pistons and larger cc heads. The NA blocks even have the boss for the turbo drainback it just needs drilled and tapped. Obviously what is bolted onto them is much different but generally the NA blocks are less tore up than their turbo counterparts and I have all aftermarket stuff so I have no need to spend the premium for the factory turbo equipment. But if the person is willing to wheel and deal I could be interested.
