hey all- new to this one member to fordexp.com born and raised in northwest missouri and followed my wife here. Picked up a job with Pepsi Cola as a fleet mechanic. Got an 86 Ford Escort EXP i call the baby mustang. Still has the stock 113 CID 1.9L EFI that puts out 125hp at the crank, 86 Monte Carlo wit a 45 over 400 small still building and had to leave in the shop back down home, and a 88 plymoth horizon for a backup for when the motor finds another weak spot for the 4th time. and like everyone else out there like me the wife gets to drive a 07 impala there is defedently something wrong with this picture.

Welcome! Vehicle situation always ends up like that with car guys, spend everything on nice car to let it sit and drive a beater, keep the wife happy and less b****y by letting her have a nice car to drive every day. I am interested to see that EXP, I have always been interested in them but have never once seen one on the road.

I like the EXP. My father had one in the early 90s. It does in fact look like a mini mustang.

Looks like it has potential. A good clean up and scrub down would go a long way. I like them things.

i was thinking an evo chassis and drive train. full work over of interier with fiberglass. i need to change suspention and spindles cuz no rims are out there for this thing and suspention parts i can only find aftermarket from UK. not looking for 400 in shipping. and to finish it all off a one off wide body. thats about what i wanna do to it but gonna be major $$$$ and time.

Those are more of a Mazda 323 than a Ford iirc. I wonder if you could swap a 323 GTX engine

you have 3 shitty cars and the wife has one nice one, and its faster too. Your wife made the right choice.

What numbers did the 400 put down? just curious.

It is a good system. I know FAST released a pretty decent system the EZ efi. I have read alot of tests on it and it seems pretty straight forward and for what it costs really cannot be beat. I got turned away from it though because it has no support for boost applications. Starting from scratch you would most likely have to hit up the JY for sensors and such but it has GM type connectors.

about 534hp @ 3700 and 542tq @ 3300 at the crank

oif_2005
12-02-2011, 07:33 PM
i was looking at the EZ system also but the pro flow 2 could be mapped a little better and it was better at self learning if i remember right

86svo9L
12-02-2011, 07:53 PM
With those numbers it may be at the max of what the EZ efi can support anyway.
