^ put an nice set of aluminum heads on your 5.0, you will be much happier with it.. Not hard to make 500 rwhp with aluminum heads, and an S-Trim. Your 1.5 Kenne Bell will hold you back unfortunately, but the torque is nice!!

Not sure about doing aluminum heads just yet. To be honest if I do another forced induction setup for this car I will be swapping the KB 1.7 for a Turbo, I am just worried about the limits of the stock block. I have a 5.4 mod engine hanging out that is looking for a home so about once a month I get thinking about building it with some 4V heads and some sort of FI but I just dont have time for another project right now. Ussually I try to get about a week and go solid until done but that wont happen until spring, who knows what I will get into my head by then.

^ Few of us have run 9.70's with a stock block. That fast enough?? Turbo with stock heads??? Stock E7's are beyond horrible.

I would sure hope a $100K ZR1 could beat a 4 seater Mustang..If not that would be pretty bad for GM.

Yea that is certainly fast enough. I daily drive this car and put more than 20k on it in a year, so I just get nervous pushing the stock block, I have cracked a block in the past pushing it to far so I have major trust issues. I am not saying its the blocks fault by any means, there are alot of factors, I just would rather start with a stronger foundation next time I put money into this car.

I didn't thing the Fox4 5.0 Mustangs had E7's I was under the impression they used GT40P's like the Exploder but what do I know?
As for the 2013 Stangs I am VERY impressed with the direction Mulally has taken with everything. Especially such a strong nameplate like the Mustang. GM too has started stepping up as well as Dodge. We are living in the second muscle car era boys, enjoy it while it lasts!

^ wrong... Foxbodys had E7's from 87-93 unless it was a 93 Cobra which had gt40's, non p's. Mustangs never utilized the gt40p's.

I wish GM would do some sort of performance parts division for our car. Sucks thinking a CAI could void my warranty.

This. Things would have probably been a bit different if Foxes hadn't had utterly dogshit factory heads.

Your dealer can make or break you there. If you are a good customer they might let things slide, but otherwise don't touch it.

Yea, it seems like torque kills blocks faster than HP, but with your KB blower it's not short on torque. I'm sure good tuning will be the most important thing to keeping the stock shortblock alive. Get some heads on it and add meth and it would be a whole different car I'm sure.

Right but I thought the 94-95's had better heads. Those E7's were just truck heads, nothing special.
