A couple of weeks ago we did a fuel filter, air filter, and seafoam on my 96 honda. Also cleaned the engine bay. A few days later the brake master went bad, but other than that it seems to still run pretty strong... minus I'm getting about 30-40 less miles out of a tank. Any idea whats the cause there?
The goal was to try and improve mpgs, not cause this. It has a 1.6L non vtec (d16y7).

Maybe drivers foot. Also seafoam can cuz decrease gas mileage for up to two tanks. That stuff works, in two oil changes I would do the fuel filter again. Besides the only seafoam treatment that helps mileage is the intake cleaning.

Could be the cold. Cold weather start up has the car running rich longer due to coolant temps, etc.

Probable the temps, Ive noticed all our vehicles getting a little less MPG. Seafoam with a vacuum port and watch that stuff work (carefully).

I drove it last winter and remember getting less, but this was literally over one week. Temps didn't drop that much, but who knows.
