I'm looking for suggestions for places to look for a engine and or engine/trans pull out. Looking for LS1, LS2, LQ4, LQ9, LY6.... I'd like to see what I can find! Any help is appreciated!

kings auto salvage i believe it is, up in/near waterloo. I use car-part a lot but 95% of the time, Kings is where i end up if it is something too big/expensive to ship.
Got my LM7/trans complete with harness, computer 55k miles, got too here it run for $250. Got my 4.6l mod, harness, etcc for $150 running with 60k. If the LQ9/LQ4 is the 6.0 vortec i am thinking it is, they wanted $250 for the engines up there i believe

I called Kings, they don't have any lq9 or lq4's. I doubt they would sell them for $250 like slownsteady said, the lq4 usually go for $750 complete with high miles at most places. lq9 are a bit more rare and cost even a few hundred more usually. Now a 5.3l may go for $500 or less, just usually not the 6.0's .

if the lq9/lq4 is the 6.0 vrtec they had one and told me $250, i went with the LM7 instead, for the same price. Its a K's acres type setup, right person, cash, you can get really good deals. Everyone wanted an arm and leg for a 4.6L DOHC mod motor and i got my whole setup for $150.

Ace Auto on S. Riverside in Iowa City deals only in newer vehicles and was much cheaper than other places i called when i was rear end hunting. i'd check with them as well.
