Item(s) for Sale: Brand New "National Quick Start CS144DR250" alternator.



Item(s) Description/Condition: Output is 250a+ @ 1200 engine rpm, "universal" wiring with a GM CS144 large case. I have adapted these to SEVERAL vehicles with ease!! it is an "extreme duty" dual rectifier alternator. Includes two heavy duty bridge rectifiers and a standard 14.7V set point voltage regulator. List price on these is $429.95 on their website. The one I used on my Durango was tested and put out something around 330A at 1200 engine RPM when it was cold. Didn't get a chance to warm it up and check but you usually lose around 50 amps once they are warmed up. This is brand new, just opened it up to take pictures. I bought it for a planned 5kw+ rms setup and it has changed to about 2Kw now so I just don't need it.

It is a direct replacement for the fallowing alts: 7802, 7861, 7864, 7894, 7901, 7918, 7921, 7977, 8103, 8112, 8160, 8163, 8165, 8172, 8173, 8203, 8206, 8216, 8219, 8221, 8227, 8231

Durango was overkill, LOL!! That had a 250a alt, a 300a alt, 8 runs of 2/0 (4 pos, 4 neg), and three 70lb, 100Ah batteries (one under the hood, two in the back). I was running like 5Kw RMS daily though, I could have everything running, lights all on and even at full tilt nothing would dim. I bet I added close to 600lbs with that system when all was said and done.

btw didnt get a chance to review those subs specs. BUT, I bet you probably noticed a MPG decrease just from the alternators. I had a civic with a H/O alt and I noticed a freakin power and gas mileage change after reverting to stock.

I tried out a couple calculators myself using a 2:1 ratio and got a couple basic designs but there is just so much I don't know about bandpass boxes I don't even want to waste the time/money building a box. Up until now I have just done large, single sub setups in a simple aero port. Durango ended up with a 153.2dB on the term lab, that was the Fi BTL18 on a DDZ1 in 7.25ft^3 @38hz or so with 85"^2 of port area via 3, 6" aeros, with the electrical listed above.

I didn't notice any change at all to be honest. It had a 5.9L Magnum though so the gas mileage always sucked. Both of those alts had overdrive pulley on them as well, tiny little things, like 1-5/8" I think, they were putting out full amperage at idle.
