why would you have to have a permit? Also, why would you come to a car site only to list a gun for sale...?

Throw it up on gunbroker.com

I want to require a permit so that I know the person I sell it to is legally allowed to own a gun. I realize that I can sell it to anyone over 18 but I would feel better knowing they were legally allowed to own a gun. I saw that someone else posted their gun on here for sale and it sold so I thought I would try. Also I want to get rid of it locally so I dont have to worry about shipping to a dealer.

Post it here. http://www.gunlistings.org/iowa-gun-classifieds
I posted my L1A1 and sold it within 2 days.
Don't worry about selling it on here, they don't buy much unless you are their best buddy.

That's not true. I've bought guns on here before without knowing the person at all.

but from someone wwhos only post is the for sale thread? I buy stuff from people i dont know all the time but i make sure someone knows them. Unless i was meeting them at the gun range to test fire it, better be someone i know or someone that others can vouch (sp?) for.

Shit I sold my GTP to war hammer, I didn't know him. Sold my 2.3 turbo to stangvortech, didn't know him. I bought my 306 from slow and I didn't know him. Kinda shoots the "buddy" theory down.

It also stands to reason that selling guns on a gun sale website would be more effective than selling guns on a car forum. I think biohazard is venting about no one buying his stuff.

That and that's the way this place has been since it was CR:U. Most of the regulars here went to high school together and are buddy buddy. Yeah, I've had luck selling stuff here in the past, but lately it's just sucked. Maybe because I'm no longer on here as much anymore.

Sorry to crap on your FS Josh. Good luck, I would be interested if I hadn't just bought this WRX.

There is a group of us that went to high school together, but we dont sell anything to each other. And if we did we sure dont post it up here first.

You sound like your having a bad day or something bio.

I don't think it is on here, I think it is just this area. I had that Damn Montana posed for about 1/3 the blue book value with new tires, a DVD player, and a few other extras and couldn't sell it for about two weeks. Finally posted it in the Des Moines craigslist and had it sold in about 3-4 hours for more than I was asking around here.

I had those SuperDurty's at about 1/4 their blue book value and didn't sell a single one locally, One went out of state, one went to Sunline, I gave one to my mom and I traded mine in for a few other vehicles. The Dodge sold locally which is funny because it actually sold for $200 OVER blue book value.

Point being, I think the local economy is just shit lately! Out of all the paint jobs I do over the summer months, usually about 5%-10% of them are financed and 90%-95% are paid out of pocket. This year I bet a solid 40% have been financed, 10% weren't financed and still haven't been paid for and the other 50% paid cash/check...

To be honest I wanted to buy that, I just didn't have the coin to throw out. All I had for trade was my modded Mosin Nagant and not many people like those.

Well...back on topic. Can you PM me your absolute bottom cash dollar? I'm in Des Moines, but am probably heading back to our lake house in Montezuma on Friday to finish some electric work. Maybe we could meet up if the price is right. Permit ready.
