i had a nice post made out with pics but i wasnt loged in so this is short i will update later on...

i have a 1989 toyota mr2 sc for a dd fun car...it is spraying a 50shot and has 11psi of small stock blower fun....car has ran a 14.7@92mph years ago and i have some other new mods done too it hopeing too get a high 12sec time if the tranny aint fried...its old and might just have a streached shift cable im trying new cables soon..

my drag car is a 2100lbs race weight 1992 honda prelude that is a allmotor/nitrous car...it ran a 11.3@127mph on s stock type bottom end last year and gave out on the dyno spraying too much...new motor is full forged and capeable of way motor hopefully...hitting the dyno up aug 5th with it and hopefully go faster soon

Mmmm, high compression Honda!

goldluderay
07-21-2011, 10:31 AM
yep its around 13.5.1compression....
my head has been milled and it has skunk 2 flat faced valve(both up the compression)
the pistons are 86.5 k20 pistons...when in a k20 motor they are 12.0.1cr...but being in a h/f series motor i get more compression out of them...

Awesome rides.

I'm likin the venturi crank vent. Don't see a whole lot of people do that. It's better then most honda guys that have 4 10an vents on the valve cover to a can in the corner lol.

Welcome

no dyno numbers for Ryan. You know a guy that use to drive a blue eclipse with carbon fiber hood and now has a 350z up in sioux city?

goldluderay
07-21-2011, 07:41 PM
i dont know....i dont see many 350z's around...

i made 240whp n/a on the last oem based motor and 338whp on the 11.3@127mph pass...and i made 399whp for one pull on a 150shot....

im hopeing the new motor can put down over 260whp n/a and over 420whp on the 150shot...i could see the car makeing 280whp n/a and around 450whp on the 150shot...

nice ... am i wrong or does it seem like most honda guys do turbo setups instead of the nitrous only route.

so your car weighs under 2000lb's without you in it?

goldluderay
07-22-2011, 09:36 AM
yes most honda guys run either all-motor or turbo...
nitrous only set-ups or supercharged set-up's are kinda bastard like in the honda world....
i have ran the car at ifo events in both the all-motor class's and boosted class's....i usually qualify mid field...but that was on the old stock piston/stock stroke motor....the power too weight of this new motor is far superior compared the old motor hopefully atleast

yes im a 180lbs and the car w/o me is 1940lbs....the scale i weight in on goes in 20lbs incriments so its a close estimate....so yeah give or take the race weight w me and bottle and full fuel cell is around 2120-2150..leaning more towards the 2120lbs.....it is the lightest class leagal fwd street car prelude know on the forums...there has been a rwd swaped lude slighty lighter than mine somehow lol....it hold other prelude forum bizz buzz records as well... im hopeing too maybe set some in general honda chassie records with the car and possiblly some general
h22 records too

no dash no head no nothing basically lol

some of thees pics are old i need too updated

in ifo for the boosted class's nitrous and supercharded only cars are allowed full gut like this cause we make less power..and turbo cars must retain dash and door pannells i belive...my car is still heavyier than a civic done right for class racing...and in all motor class's they allow full gut like mine in any honda...

i have no exhaust as well and have shaved all hangers and all

goldluderay

yeah its easy too find lost wires and such lol...im going too make the wiring look better someday and primer the interior a flat red...

i still have some dual stage nitrous wireing too do...it has five nozzles and 3 solenoids...all need too run off of one wot switch...
so that will be happening real soon here too

Holy diet thats nuts!

goldluderay
07-22-2011, 02:39 PM
the car is super light....but in the stageing lanes its not that easy too push....i usually run the tires so low in psi that its like pushing a car with two flat tires up front....i still can do it too keep coolant temps down and such but i get sweating sometimes just pushing like that...but at my shop on normal tires i can push it where ever the hell i want..

generally the allmotor type honda's that are fast are scary light....there are pleany of cars weighting in at aroun 1800lbs with drivers...civic hatch's/crx's...but they dont make alot of power so they get away with a realy light weight...most of the bigger turbo guys weigh in around 2300-2500lbs becasue they actually need some of that weight for traction...

i think i have seen it...is it a red mr2?
if its the one im thinking of its way cleaner than mine lol....but probally goes faster lol...well when it can shift, something is wrong in the tranny i think...it needs fixed and bussy w the lude

lude has the new motor in and is actually on the ground for the first time in 3months...it was on layaway lol

just need too finish the nitrous pluming and wiring and fill it up and go dyno

the megaphone exhaust is alittle lower than i like it too be....im going heat it up and try bending it...it will be fine for track use and dyno but i sometimes drive it too the street races only if i have someone too run...so it may run the exhaust w all thees pot holes

i think i know of this 3rd gen camero it brians car....i love that car..looks so mean with that stance and blower on it...i see that car all the time...its red too....

and i do sometimes race the lude on the street....there is some vids i posted above of mee ripping it....im perty sure i know witch lude your taking about with the gt35...i have chatted with him and rosko's n/a lude before....im down too run some lude on lude action if it all goes good...i want too trailor it down too run at eddyville sometime

goldluderay
07-23-2011, 06:21 PM
also i would hopefully come too eddyville with my buddies lude as well....i have help every step of the way with this car too
it has like a shit ton of 1/8th mile pass's with a best of a 7.7@96mph in the 1/8th...and we have added some nitrous on it as well...
the car has horrid turbo lag cause the trans is just pathitic in theese older honda's

its the orginal b20a5 old school motor...not the good b20...it has the shitty one
but made 420whp on 20psi

Cool stuff man.

Just curious, why stay n/a and nitrous instead of turbo? I'd have to think you'd have a monster if you invested the same amount of cash on a turbo build rather.

Either way, I really dig it. Good work.

goldluderay
07-23-2011, 08:57 PM
define monster? a 10second car it will defentially do that...9second car it's possible it has the low enough weight but getting honda's into the 9's is tricky i wold need i different suspesion thats for sure...a 8second car? mine would need more headwork and more displacement and more spray...or is a monster too you a car that makes 700whp and still also runs 10's but traps at like 150mph?

the never ending turbo vs n/a game....that's all im getting at
i like being the underdog..i like the sound of n/a stuff lol...i like the rumble and feeling of pure power...dont get me wrong i like turbo stuff as well like that 3rd gen lude above..
i helped with it everystep of the way...he is going too go h22 and make over 600whp w it eventually...

i like the sleeper perspective of my car....just a non turbo n/a lude w some spray in a heavy honda prelude(preludes usually aint raced they weight like 3000lbs stock)
mine is the lightest known that is on the forums

take in mind the car is drag car set-up...not a highway queen or dyno king....
the fastest turbo street car honda in the world made over 1200whp and weighted in at 2600lbs and ran mid 8second times.....
the fastest all motor honda in the world made barely over 400whp and weighted 1700lbs and ran mid 9second times....
take that same all motor car and drop the compression just a tad and give it nitrous specific cams/headwork and nitrous specific intake and header....and give it a dual maybe even triple stage nitrous kit totaling a 300shot or so...add some weight too traction and you may have yourself a 8second non-turbo honda damn near running with 1200whp cars...just because allmotor and nitrous car run close too what there power too weight says it should run....thats anthor reason i like allmotor/spray only....

sure on the highway or youtube rool style turbo for the win...but allmotor nitrous stuff on the drag strip is very competive....
v-8 carb guys love all-motor spray and go damn fast.....ricer's can do the same.....thats anthor reason i like my car...carbed v-8 guys enjoy my car there curious.. its fast, loud rumbly and doesnt have snail...just like them except smaller and way lighter and makeing way less power....

but like i said i love all forms of fast cool cars no matter what power them

c_mart_28
07-23-2011, 09:05 PM
Good reply. I get it. Good motives.

Buut...couldn't you be embarrassing guys well into the 9 second range by now with a turbo setup? (Keep in mind, I fought an up-hill battle with a turbo rotary for like 5+ years so I get it....)

goldluderay
07-23-2011, 11:15 PM
not sure.... i do know that the fastest h22 street car fwd prelude in the country is running a 10.0@148mph with 800whp atleast it is the fastest that posts on the forums...and its turbo.....
im sure he will hit 9's with it eventually im not sure i ever will but i can try lol....fwd stuff is hard it gets very trick kinda the fun in it....
i have had this car for like 7yrs just decided too go with allmotor/spray and havent looked back..

most rotary guys are die hard turbo nuts....
but there are some wicked fast lightweight all motor rotarys out there too....
i belive rotarys dont mess with spray much though..isnt there some theory about rotarys hating the quick combustion chamber temp that nitrous cause's?

Why go prelude then if the recipe is light weight n/a? When my brother finally got out of lightweight hondas and sold the 91 hatch, 4 of us picked it up and put it on the trailer. Lightweight was an understatement, suspension and wheels and engine etc were all out at the time.

I think Id run a CRX if I was to go fwd, n/a. Find an old HF, cant do 1g though, too ugly for me.

goldluderay
07-27-2011, 04:46 PM
i have asked myself that as well too the above....
i just have had this lude for so long and never looked backed...i like the style of ludes and that there different...
but if i could rool back time when i was 20yrs old i would of never riped apart the lude...i would of left it alone as a nice fun slow car
and buy a crx and go superlightweight w it.....but the lude is what i have and im working as best i can with it

mrsc on a 75 shot clicked a 13.45@101 last night...that run also making the headgasket fade some lol...so i only got two runs on spray in and one i launched poorly....the car wasnt launching as good as it usually does..it usually gets 1.8's the best i could muster was a 1.98...im thining track prep was bad or the nitto nt01 tires dont like that smooth pavement..on the street it seems too bite harder...

anyway a new ebay 4agze and a milled head with a performance headgasket i think it can run high 12's on a 75shot....a buddys prelude ripped a 12.0@119mph on last night as well...
