Oh I just looked at the list, and there have been some changes to the combo since

The L92s have been swapped for WCCH CNC'd LSA heads and dual springs with Ti retainers

Injectors are now Injector Dynamics 1000s running on E85 2-bar SD in open loop

The TC78 is gone in favor of a Precision 78GTS

And the TH350 is gone for a built glide with a transbrake and a PTC converter

Rear end is a Grannys 8.8 with all the options and 3.25 gears

At 8psi the backpressure was very high, try 2.5:1, and since the OP has a turbonetics I frown on the idea of putting a iron block in just for more cubes, when it is actually more of a hinderance than a benefit.

8psi seems to be too low to say you've maxed out a t76 with a f1 68 turbine wheel. but it kind of depends on the heads and cam but 8psi seems low to have maxed the turbo. a t76-t78 is not exactly a small turbo. its seems to be the entry level turbo of choice for ls1's and ls2's but it is far larger than an oem turbo would be for a similar sized motor. Hopefully drifte will post his oem turbo spool video that thing is crazy responsive. The imports seem to push small turbos really hard and don't seem to log backpressure much. seems like the v8 guys like to log backpressure more often.

my t72 has some lag and I know even the 6.0's have some lag with a t76. I've heard of the tc78 making 900whp on a ls1. the 6.0 is only 5% more displacement.

also the turbo is cheap and easy to change so I would pick the turbo based around the motor not build a motor around the turbo.

it was not maxed out at 8psi, but that is about where it was most efficient. It definately made more power but it has been proven a number of times that from 8 to 12psi (12 is about all you will get on a built 370) the backpressure nearly doubles. There is no problems with the compressor, the turbine wheel and housings availible are a massive choke point. You have to remember that this motor was making a good 500whp N/A, 12psi I would guess closer to 740whp, but it was quite noticeable that it would fall over at +5k rpm.

Full boost came around 3500, but as predicted the 78GTS is only 200rpm or so later and makes MUCH more power, close to 100whp more. If it will grip I plan on taking it up to 16# this weekend, it is at 14 currently and I havent been in a car that fast for a long time.

Update from this weekend, we had to do a bunch of suspension work and couldnt get out of the 10s with the tein's in the front. Rand 12.5psi on all passes, hot lapped the car a bunch of times, and it never had a single problem. We made 3 10.04 passes at 145-149 leaving on 0 boost on the footbrake and pedaling it some on the 17' DR's

So we found some stock front struts and threw em on there with the 26x9 hoosiers and a set of skinnies, first pass off the footbrake and 1psi Ran 3 passes, 9.33, 9.37, 9.30 all leaving pretty easy with 1.5x 60's

Then we threw the radials back on and went 9.9x on 17" DRs!
The car was on the limiter on the 9.30 pass at 149, we have a good 300rpm left later on and the car has a 1.3x 60 in it with some more work. Theres also around 100hp left in the motor before we run out of fuel again
