I just got a 96 cbr 600 yesterday and called my insurance company, Milheizer Smith, and they said it was not eligible. So they contacted Progressive and got a price for $900/yr... just for the bike. That would put me close to $2,000 yr for my 3 vehicles only on liability. Thats not going to cut it. Anyone have any suggestions on where i should go to get some pricing on insurance?

My broker has me setup with Progressive for 2 cars and a bike. I think full coverage on the bike is 630 or so. I would contact a broker or progressive directly. If you have a bad record though I doubt its going to get much better.

I don't know how old you are but young kids have to pay out the ass to ride crotch rockets... for good reason if you see what guys do on those things.

Unfortunately, Progressive seems to usually be the cheapest I've checked on everything. I pay something like $30/month for full coverage on my motorcycle... maybe a little less (can't remember but it's not much). But again, if you're under 25, that insurance is going to be pretty expensive wherever you go.

i dont know who you are but that is a hell of a deal....

I had state farm and was paying about $800/yr for full coverage
I set colton up with my broker who got me in at progressive for about $550/yr

Why do people buy cars/bikes before calling and checking on insurance?

I have heard of people paying less than me with worse records and faster bikes, so I know there is still a better deal out there. I didnt take the drivers safety course though either so that kinda hurts it.

This.
I called them up and they set me up for 858/yr for both cars and bike on liability. It actually makes my insurance rate go down by having the bike on there since i got a multi-vehicle discount. If i got rid of the bike it'll go up to 886/yr. Im not complaining

I knew i could afford the insurance on it regardless what it was, even if i had to pay the $2,000/yr., but i knew i could get it much cheaper

Yea thats basically the difference between my insurance and erics. Maybe other variables as well, but he saves about $100 a year having done the Kwood class.
