I'm pretty sure its been around the 2 year mark. If I need to go to the track this year and run faster than kitch, ill gladly do it at some point here, just don't like going up there on really hot ass days.

You don't even want to know haha, was originally a v6 / auto / cloth interior. Whoever did it though did a hell of a job though, is put together solid and they even had all the smog shit in, dash from a v8/6 speed swap is flawless/ suspension. rear end is posi but does have 3.08's.

Still drives better than a lot of the others I've driven. Does puke power steering fluid and my speedo still doesnt work but that'll all be fixed shortly.
Just finally got my new headlight on last night, so nice that it looks good again!

got a buddy from here that has a firehawk thats still manual that im pretty sure has ran 10.2 with his larger shot of spray. cant quote me on that. im sure some of the guys that go to cordova know him. his name is shane and the car is red. most of the time the car runs higher 10's with the smaller shot.

thats a link to a artical about the car. 2nd page a little ways down it says 10.40 @ 141mph. artical is from 2009 so that time is old aswell. just cant give a a exact time since idk for sure

it is not on e85. ive always know it to be on a mix of av gas and 93. i know it will run on 91 if it has to but doesnt run good. he had to drive it from ohio one year cause the tranny went out of the truck pulling it and was on 91 the 8 hour trip.

i agree. but i do not know what hp rating with the jets that is normally in the car. it doesnt get the big ones put it in unless at a event.
i think a lot of it is he doesnt take it to the track much anymore. i think he went once last year. and this year hes only been once just spectating when he hauled my car up. hes really into sprint car racing right now so i doubt it sees the track a whole lot more honestly. hes jokes about going auto and doing 2 stages of spray but i dont see it happening anytime soon

Mine is over 12.5:1 and runs on 91 pump gas, wouldnt dare race with it on pump gas. Its all about cam selection, you can bleed off enough cylinder pressure with overlap and duration to run high compression with pump gas. My engine only pumps about 135psi cranking compression if that gives you a idea.

I really need to degree my cams on my 4g I only have 75 psi after the fresh rebuild and I noticed that the intake runners have carbon film in them seems the intake cam is retarded but dont know how much. Like Scott on certain grinds you can change how much cylinder pressure there is with overlap or different grinds

10.4x forgot the mph, it makes a good amount of hp all motor, over 700, just has a extremely tight converter, tall gears, and no low end torque to speak of. I've been playing around with a few changes lately to change the power band, theres alot of factors in the cranking compression i noticed.

There is a two year rule on the list so all of the 2009 passes are obsolete now that the 2011 season is ending. You need to hit the track again!

I did last year I think. Couldn't put anything together, but mis shifts, low 12's, etc. I know it's not me as i have had no problems running the other cars I've ran at the track to expected numbers. I think either the input shaft, driveshaft or both are tweaked from the old time when it hurt the clutch. Can't buy those seperately and the price is unreal for new gm ones. Car will not shift shift at the limit, but it's not worth taking apart for the slip (those that know the vette drivetrain feel me on this). That time would have been when greg went up to watch so it with either 2 or 3 years ago, but I'm guessing 3. I don't really care either way just thought I'd mention it:)

I'll get it apart sometime, but since it drives ok on the street I'll just keep it how it is and stay off the list.

Reviewing the vids, it sounds like its stumbling and missing. Is that all straightened out?

if that was to me I was playing with the start retard but it pulled 15 degrees timing starting at 3800 which is why it would launch good but fall on its face

Yeah I can't recall where that car was from, but I recall it had a pretty wheezed out 318 with some parts on it. I don't think it ever made it out of the 15's

I must say, I'm sure most all of us know "the passenger" That shows up and always has a faster car at home for whatever reason that nobody has ever seen. It's bad enough when they pump ya full of it to your face, but it's really easy on forums!
