1980 Camaro RS: Project Car

I have a 1980 Camaro RS that I just don't have much time anymore between working full time, home projects, and school coming back up for me. I have the car stripped down quite a ways as I've wanted to patch in the floor, clean it up as my original intentions were to keep it. The car can be made into a roller at anytime.

The car came with a 305 & TH350 trans. The car is a T-Top car and has power windows. The engine does have some type of cam in it. I have the engine from carb to oil pan. (no distributor or air cleaner). Do not know anything more about the engine as I had no intention of using it. The rear axle tubes were welded up. I've kept pretty much everything that's been reusable on the car inside & out. The rear frame rails look to be in good shape also.

The 305 & th350 that came in the car can go with along with either one of two engines that need to be gone through. A complete 454 bored .030 with all accessories or a 350 short block.

I do have the original wheels the car came with. One of them was bad as it was leaking from a crack in it. The Front sub-frame seams have been welded. (Not the prettiest but has been done.) I have a couple different sheet metal sheets that I was going to use for patching in the floor that can go with if wanted. The car overall is really solid and the rusty areas have been cut out out of the floor that I've found.

Parts I have that are brand new:

Pro-Touring F-Body Matched Shocks & Springs with new hardware.
Pro-Touring F-Body Upper control arms.
Pro-Touring F-Body Solid aluminum body bushings.
Pro-Touring F-Body G-Braces.
Pro-Touring F-Body Bolt or Weld in Subframe connectors.
Moog Upper & Lower Ball joints for both sides.
Have a box of prothane polyurethane bushings/parts.

The main reason for why the car was torn down to the point it's at now, I was planning on fixing up the car to keep but life has a funny way at getting in the way. The floors are not as bad some of the pics look due to the carpeting that was worn thin.

Thank you both. I'm in the process of getting the car back to rolling and if things go as planned I'll have the car in my garage to work on. If it works out I may just end up keeping it. Not having any time to work on it with it being across town has been frustrating!

Here's some pics of how it sits currently and the new parts still wrapped up to go with it. The lens kept fogging over in the garage. The rust on the frame is just flash rust.

I have the 305 with the TH350 sitting in my dads shop, a short block 350 pulled out of a 90 caprice (roller motor I do believe, would have to look) then caleb has a 454 bored .030

Engine and trans go with unless you don't want it.

One final bump. I need the space back and don't have the time or tools needed to keep it. :-/ I'm not one who likes to half ass things and that's why I'm stuck where I'm at with it. All the stuff I have for it was going to be a pro-touring setup while still being able to perform at the drag strip.

I'm not on that forum there. I may give it post on there. I'm currently trying to find the time to get a 18" deep trench dug that's about 35' long so I run wiring out to the garage so I can use my tools to put the car back together. It may be a little time before it goes anywhere so hit me up if things change for you.

Congrats on the house! Always a good feeling! I remember having to buy stuff when I bought my 1st house and it adds up.

Currently I'm spending money on upgrading the electrical in the house and garage so I can try to work on the car to get it back to a roller in the proper way!!

Bump up. I still have everything as listed in the original post. I just finally got some of the wiring done needed to use the air compressor but still don't have the room needed to put a heater in the garage and work on it the way I want too since I need the other side of the garage for the wife's car. It'd be a great project car for over the winter for someone!!! Open to offers!
