What are your thoughts on the matter? I HATE it, I think it is fugly and just makes no sense at all. I tend to want to put the widest wheel I can find on the back of a RWD car. I love the fat/skinny look, narrowest tire I can up front and widest tire I can out back.

Just in case you don't know what it is (I didn't until a few weeks ago)

People that do that are very stupid and deserved to get rammed in the ass with a tire iron.

Sounds dangerous. ...and I thought I was a badass puttin 33x12.5s on an 8" rim!

IIRC its called Hella Flush and its something you see alot on the cars owned by the athletes in the Special Olympics (If you get my drift).

Just another fad that probably started out from people that didn't know what they were doing. Definitely doesnt look safe. I love seeing expensive tires with a rim guard stretch so the rim guard sits behind the lip. I don't mind VIP style cars like lexus' etc but that stretched tire look is silly.

That rear tire just looks stupid and extremely unsafe. I haven't seen one that extreme. Me and colton mounted a pair similar to that back at sears. I believe they were 215/45 on 10.5 rims!

Drifte

They were for drifting, 215's on a 9 or 9.5" rim for dustin. I had tires and he needed some, so we made them fit.

I like the look of a stretched tire. it can sometimes be a little to extreme, but generally I think it looks good. I compare it to low rider's or rat rods, just taking a particular aspect of cars to an extreme. In this case wheel fitment.

I stretch tires a little bit, not even close to like what you have pictured though. It seems to reduce sidewall flex a bit and that's desirable for me. It could all be in my head though or just the properties of the tire that I am using.

Well it is unsafe, but then so is most of what we do to our cars. Theres no safe legitimate reason for them to ever be as quick as we want them. Automotive taste and fads are always about being noticeably different in some way. I still don't like it. I love a perfect squared sidewall like my kumho mx's. 275/40/17 on a 9 inch wide wheel

Doing that to tires is unsafe. I guess I should take out your ball joint nut and tell you to go drifting with fire because its pressed in with the spindle it will be ok who needs to follow rules because running without nuts is the coolest thing since sliced bread. Lets try to be different so much we are gonna intentionally try to kill ourselves yeah thats smart.

Stay tuned for more stupid fucking "stance" trends. Got the camber we want, waiting on the 3" tires for the 8" wheel. Went w/ a tall sidewall so it will be like riding on a donut. HELLA FLUSH

Stock height keeping all the haters guessing, SMART! That and I can't lower it with my current exhaust setup... I don't like to talk about it...:(

There are lots of strange fads I've noticed lately. The spacers to tilt the back of a hood to give it a gap looks awful. I understand the negative pressure area but it looks like someone didn't know how to put their hood on properly.

And do I spy an lt1 hiding behind a trashbag?

They pop the rear of the hood up to try and flow more air, and it is somewhat effective. I agree though it looks terrible.

And I should remove your lug nuts, and have you make several quarter mile passes?

Stretching a tire and removing a ball joint nut is not even remotely close to the same, a little tire stretch is not unsafe. I've never seen a bead unseat in the past 6 years I've been attending drift events.

wow that is weird you go to drifting events? That must make you an expert on tires. I want you took go take a nice corner at road america with the first car pictured. Do it at 90 and I will be there to take photos. Btw dumbass I am not the one trying to play with fire I am merely expressing an example of pressed fit and playing with fire by not following recammended procedure. I guess if you knew about cars, you would know that. Matt may think you're the bomb but I don't give a shit about your opinions on life.

Who is Matt and why are you getting so offended?

People that run stupid stretched tires don't do it for performance. I just find it funny that you are just insulting the hell out of a style and trying to imply that they don't know shit about what they are doing. (Edit* I see you last post now is more sensible and not such an attack on a forming "car culture". But the stuff you said before was ignorant.)

On another note, we don't know eachother. So you don't need to try an insult me on the internet.

Ah yes, I've spoke with him a few times. I use to be really good friends with Jamie too, if you work at sears with them? I wasn't trying to start shit with you, just a little argument, arguing is good if it doesn't get out of hand. I have respect for you from things I've seen you say in the past.

Haha.. luckily enough I've always remembered to throw it in neutral or hit the e-brake when I forget to pump the brakes.
The most important part of a brake job is the first time you use them!

QFT I am also not afraid to throw that puppy into park. I had a dude bring his own bacon and eggs master cylinder and tried to replace it himself. He said that he rounded a line. I got it and realized the pedal was soft no biggie just gotta do air brakes (you know the kind where clear at the bottom it stops), so I throw it in to drive only to have it not only not stop but shoot out in to traffic and roll down the street apparently he cut both lines to the master cylinder so he got it there ith a crappy parking brake and I had to drive it like a drift car to get it in the bay to redo the lines and master some peoples kids.

that is extreeeeeemly unsafe to do that your taking the bead on the tire and not even touching the seat of the rim. and the cotact patch of the bead is reduced by half there isnt anything i can see to gain accept an insurance claim. with rubberband tires there is vertually no sidewall flex in the first place but for performance purposes a little side wall flex is actually a good thing. like on my road course car i run 245/60/15 and that is almost perfect.
