Heres my new bike....a 2003 yamaha fz1.its a 1000cc...has a full set of fairrings that came with it, got a good deal on it, so i cant complain... it runslike a champ! i did get it wrecked, but it still has a clean title, and no structural damage being as the fz1's have a steel frame versus the r1 or r6's have aluminum, in which i dont think those bikes would have survived this accident.also these bikes are designed to blow the forks out in effort to reduce the hard energy hit to the bike itself so it actually lookd alot worse than it actualy was...im not worried bout the bike at all.

You just love the open headers on vehicles, huh?

run that bitch with open headers!! or get an exhaust, that thing sound like a moped with the muffler!! My 900 has a Jardine carbon fiber slip on and it sounds pretty bad ass. A buddy of mine got a $15 fart can off eBay and slapped it on his old 1100, sounded awesome in all honesty but didn't look the best! LOL didn't run as good afterwards either.

yea im looking at getting a slip on for it, as the stock muffler has alot of rash on it and a few good dents in the piping for it....

i rode it all over hell today, very fun, stable, smooth bike....put about 50 miles on it today and it did really good. i babied it for a while till i got the feel for it, then cracked it, yea she has some babay ponies in there lol, but like above, with stock pipe/can on it, you cant hear it :( so i have to change that

I can tell you that a D&D is one of the loudest ones out there. Almost to an annoying point after a while. I like the fact that they're made in Texas. Dave Walker's Holeshot performance also has some really good products, but they're very performance minded, so you usually pay a little more. Glad to see there's 1 more street fighter style bike on the road. A guy on DS just bought a 2011 FZ8. Seems like they're getting more popular. I still love my Bandit though.

BTW, I wouldn't even worry about the lower fairings. Looks better with them off.

Good work Steve. I think you'll enjoy this big 1000 more than the old cm400. Come to think of it, you would have hit your knees on the bars.

whaa for real? I thought if it didnt sell I would make it look nice and park it in my basement as a decorative piece.

Steve, if I could have I probably would have bought the new fz8, I like the styling of those bikes, and great for cruising. Fz1 is no joke either, 120whp that year ya got. Another member on here and myself hope to go in soon for our licenses at the DMV.

mine is a 03...i read somehwere its sposed to be 140hp....i take it you and andrew are getting your licenses here pretty soon? this is a fun and smooth bike...its a tad cramped on the wrists as the handlebars are still bent but those should be here today sometime (thursday) ive been riding around with just my permit, waiting for a decent day to take the test. a guy i work with is gonna let me use his ninja 250 LOL but its small enouh t get the test done

I tried to get through the test painted on kirkwoods lines on my bike. Its the S curve that really throws me off. No turning raidus on these rockets, you gotta lean hard.

As for hp, I believe it stays the same 01-05, 140 is probably crank hp.

yeah slow tight turns are killers for us. I just lean the bike and keep my body weight leaning the other way. Also i slip the clutch and rev up the bike on the tight parts. the flywheel spining helps keep it from falling over too fast.

well got a micron slip on for the bike. finally had time to install it tonite...sounds oh so great, as i can actually hear the bike now lol...rode it for a good hour, getting all over it is just heaven to my ears now

also as for vid, as soon as i started it, one of my senior aged neighbors popped out of there garage and was staring me down, so i didnt rev as much as i couldve
