with Chrome Mag wheels.
Your shit is more than likely stock and slow.
P.S. Don't Rev at me on Blairs ferry to look cool, you'll be left looking at my tail lights :-)
Story: A couple days ago, I was waiting to turn on to Blairsferry by the walmart/metro buffet intersection road when I noticed a Black Fox Body Mustang with the 5.0 badge and nice looking wheels. I turned and proceeded to do my thing and just put doing the speed limit about a 1/4 mile down the road from said intersection. I looked in my rear view mirror and noticed the mustang probably doing 45 obviously catching up to me beings hes getting up to me decently quick.
He decided to give me the once over and then drop it into gear and mash it and it wasn't even impressive at all. Then he preceded to merge in front of a car in front of me. I didn't have that shit, so i just put it in second to get up a little and mashed it back ( broke the tires loose, just to have a little fun ) and they looked over seemingly impressed and decided to follow me out on to blairsferry passed Edgewood Rd on a Two way. That part was annoying, but bleh I would have smoked their shit. ( metaphorically speaking for the smart asses out there :-) ). I'm in the mood for racing since that lol.
Also got one of the 350 blocks dropped off at D&R for my 2nd engine build to see if the block is good. If it is, watch out for a little fun car coming through hopefully by the end of summer :-)

Hatch or Notch?
The only one I know of on the board thats here in town is a black hatch but I'm pretty sure he was in CF working all day.
Either way, Mustangs are slow and have no chance against GM power. ;)

Yeah should have specified it was a couple of days ago, but I'm pretty sure it was the Hatch style, but not 100% on that. Didn't care enough to scope his car with other cars in front of me.

The one that runs around with us (SIN)? Thats Johnnys brother. He still has it. He goes to school up in CF so he's not around as often but it should be out this summer I'm sure.

Oooohh, No way. Two years now I think. 8-10 years ago I barely had my school permit, so I didn't know anything. (I still don't but thats a different story.)

Oh man the vid starts off with a race against seth in his old GST, after that I knew it was gonna be a classic. Looks like the STI/Evo race was on that shitty road by general mills. Damn that one does take me back.

Its not my first rev sir lol and no freak out. Just a call out to a slow Mustang. Just in the spring mood to get the cars out and messing around. Gonna be a fun summer.

Bah, was out messing around tonight and my white turd is still having hesitation under hard acceleration from a dig. Ive tried an a notch up for an earlier acceleration pump shot, and no fix. Seems to be running out of gas. I stomp on it in first and it was squirrely and strong, and when i went in second, it started mumbling and not wanting to go and I left off and gave it a shot of gas with the pedal and it stabilized a bit and I let off and it smoothed out. I googled the issue and the carb is still at stock float levels and proper 5.5psi for the carb. I was thinking step up springs and raise the float levels just a bit because this was one of the things to check for hard acceleration issues. The Jets have been balanced, 4% leaner on cruise and 4% richer on acceleration from stock, and the plugs are still burning great since changing it. But if I changed the float levels, how much should I raise it to have it at a safe haven? a Few mm's?

Yeah If I had an extra $1900 laying around to just outright buy it, I would consider it. So I'm just doing trial and errors right now, I changed to a stiffer step up spring and took the car out and launched the piss out of it multiple times from a dead stop and stalling it out as well, so far it hasn't given me the same real bad hesitation shit like it was before. I'm still skeptical so I'll keep tinkering with it and experimenting. Last thing I wanna do is take it to the track when they open to have another disappointing day up there. I hate getting in one low 13 second pass with problems. I know the bitch has at least a mid to low 12 in it with a good launch and slicks and no stupid issues.

i'm not sure if this applies to a carbed cars but the cars i have seen do not bog if they are a little bit off on the mixture.
It takes afr's in the 9's area to make dsm's bog unless its running high boost. perhaps harder to make an NA car bog. My ls1 I have never made it bog by running rich. On the ls1 I can definitely feel the loss in power in the high 9's afrs but it still doesn't bog. Never played with the 8's because thats getting ridiculous. I aim for low 11's. Being a naturally aspirated car you should aim for maybe mid 12's afrs. As for running lean, no bogging either. I notice idle stumbling leaner then 18:1 but I don't play with leaning it out at wot because its dangerous.
My point is that i'd guess your fuel would have to be probably be at least 15% from normal to make it bog. I noticed you mentioned making a 4% change above.
Once you get spoiled with great tuning tools like widebands and logging everything on your laptop and sitting in your living room changing your tune its hard to imagine doing it any other way. I mentioned it before but I have $130 Innovate widebands here, might be a good investment for you. Not sure how many carb guys run widebands. Seems odd to me for a carbed car to have a wideband because its old school mixed with a modern tuning tool. don't see why it wouldn't be helpful though.

I want a wide band on my camaro and i would like to log a few other parameters with it.
also an fyi i have heard most carb issues that people can't figure out are timing issues
Caleb

I may look at a wide band, probably wouldn't be a bad idea with my near future build coming up. I'll look into it.

you better build something a fuel injected supercharged monster, you're gonna need it...

Purchased a return bypass fuel regulator, see if this fixes the issues, I'll keep to updated Friday :-). My guess its vapor lock since its only a dead end regulator. Well see.
