i have lots of goofy customer stories. yesterday a mustang owner called looking for a t76 .
him: which brand of turbo is the loudest, I like the spool up sound.
me: nobody really designs a turbo to sound loud its just a side effect. can't really tell you which brand is louder.
him: well do you know how i can make my front mounted turbo sound like a rear mount turbo does and why are rear mounts loud?
me: well the rear mounts are loud because they are near the end of the exhaust stream and sometimes have no muffler. often they are smaller turbos then front mounts so they also have to spin at higher rpm's. you could run open downpipe... ha ha
him: what do you mean open downpipe?
me: ....explaining ....bla bla... bla... i was just joking its too loud you'd get pulled over
him: well thats ok, i'm black so i get pulled over all the time anyway. i think i might try that it sounds cool. ........well i'll think about the turbo order and call you back when I'm ready to buy.
