That looks awesome! One question though as I've wondered. With the impeller facing the front with nothing to block bugs or debris getting into it, can it cause any problems having it that way? I know if it was a steet driven car it certainly could but on the track?

whose car?

Someone with a 94-98 body style. Probably a 94-95 given the motor in it.

Is the gap from the intake to throttle body supposed to add power? :butthead:

Looks pretty killer

I like it, looks sweet. I just wonder why someone spends all that money and goes with a turbo thats 10years old. why not do some new turbo tech stuff and really fly!

Their's a reason for that, they've been tested time and time again to produce.....you're right it'll prob be a mid 8 sec car, that's not fast...Steve o

But how much RWHP will it make? That's more important than what it runs in the 1/4 mile... LOL!!! 1300rwhp and can do roll-ons from 70-190 mph on the interstate is where it's at. Don't worry about the family in their SUV in the lane next to you, roll-on racing is serious BIZNESSSSS......

The few extra hp gained with the latest and greatest turbo won't hold a candle to time/money put into chassis development and getting the car to leave off a brake and two step.

02-15-2011, 07:43 PM
what up Jake. it sure is. and no never sold the car as you see. so how is that camaro coming along?

Deimos
02-15-2011, 08:51 PM
Sad to say camaro is dead man. so I will never get that rematch. At least i got something else to work on and hopefully have fun with. it's nice to see you finally did the turbo build you were talking about. i hope that bad boy hauls for ya.

mustangmike45
02-15-2011, 09:17 PM
that sucks to hear Jake. Yeah between family and work it has been hard to get the car done but with the help the twins gave me and having a one of the best in the country build the motor I think this thing will fly when she's done.

Deimos
02-15-2011, 09:22 PM
i didn't even know your were buddies with the twins. Who built the engine? Work sucks and families take money.

I am friends with pretty much anyone who shares the love of racing. It's one of the few sports that guys would rather help eachother out than step on your face to get ahead! That being said, I haven't known them for a long time but they did the cage work on the car and after seeing their skills I asked them to do this fab work for me, and I am happy I did cause it turned out killer! As for engine builder.. would rather not say as I need to keep some stuff under wraps, lets just say in the finals this year he had 3 out of 4 winning motors and is a genious with engines and port work!

no point in hiding a builder.. a combo is only gunna do what its gunna do.

but id understand not giving specs...

Deimos
02-16-2011, 12:49 PM
that and he likes the suspense. I hope it runs good and you do some 10.5 racing with it. Maybe we can get a rematch on the track this time bud.

well, Chris and Steve are making the finishing touches on the car this week! The guys really stepped up and finished off the project for me and all I can say is Thank You! I don't know what would have happened with the car this year if they hadn't taken the helm on it. It fired tonight for the first time as well and all I can say is WOW it sounds nasty! Thanks again guys the work is second to none and every little detail that has gone into it has been top notch! I will post some pics when I get a chance and the car is back home. Almost time for some tuning

StreetSweeper

Sweet.. Whos tuning?

mustangmike45
05-05-2011, 12:35 AM
larry at assc is tuning the car next week and then starts the long road to learning to drive this monster! it should only take a month or two to learn! lol

mustangmike45
05-14-2011, 11:05 PM
well got the car tuned. Chris and Steve really built a monster! Their long nights and dedication really paid off. With some help we got a few minor bugs ironed out on the dyno and got way more than expected out of it! All I will say is 1000 plus rwhp at mild boost. So thanks to RGR, ASSC, Chris, Steve, Eric, and everyone else involved would have been lost gettin here without all the hard work.

I didnt know eric worked on your car..

mustangmike45
05-15-2011, 10:40 PM
Eric did not work on the car. Here is who did what
-rgr built the longblock
-Assc (Larry) tuned the car and will continue to tune it as we go
-Eric sold me the turbo, gave me some ideas/pointers when I started brain storming the combo a few years ago, and then helped out with adjustments on the dyno as he is friends with Larry
- Chris and Steve did 95 percent of the car! They did the turbo kit, wiring, fabrication, cage, tranny, and made everything work together. I am sure I forgot some stuff but basically they lived with the car for about 2 months straight day and night. This project was way above my abilities so I am just glad they stepped up and built the car for me, hell the car fired first crank at chris's house if that's any indication of the job they did. If you didn't see it while it was there you will have to check it out at the track sometime. The twins really outdid themselves on this one! Like a work of fockin art! Now just gotta get some seat time in it and some advice

want to try and go test this coming Friday night. Either Cedar Falls or Cordova not sure yet. Cordova has the midnight deal so I would get more passes trying to get a feel for the power. Hell, I haven't even drove it on the street yet I am hoping to on Wed if not this weekend will for sure be interesting!!
