Just realized this is the same engine available in the SHO and MKS/MKT but the Truck one has 70lb/ft more torque! Wonder how long before the SHO guys figure out what got them the extra 70!

The new 2011 F150 rocks they redesigned the engine to not blow out spark plugs like a mother. They are quick too.

The big boy sorta like a old sohc cammer.... yes it can go 7 litre easy. I would estimate 520 c.i. based on fe bore spacing. This was the 777 engine, 700 hp 7k rpm and 7 litre.

All In all lot better engines than the old ones imo. A f150 these days is around 5.5k #. The ecoboost suppose to get 25 mpg max. Which at that weight well is awesome. I can easily see this in next yr stang if that is your deal. Be lot quicker than the sho or lincoln or edge. 500#+ lighter I estimate.

Was talking to my dad about these, especially cause they make so much more torque than even the new 5.0 in trucks. The problem is all in when you turn on that key. Just doesn't have that sound. Shame, cause he really wants to get a raptor, and he has a 5.4 now and really doesn't want another, but 6.2's are marked up so much its unrealistic for most people. Even though resale would make it far more the better choice, most people don't see that.

He probably knows I'd throw exhaust on it and barrow it ever weekend :biggrin:

Here's a 6.2 thrown on a dynojet. Lot more whp than a 5.4. I got to see old man Don Bowles drive the 777 stang at chicago track, it hauled azz. Hard saying how much these raptor weigh. That could make a big deal but if you get it in more or less base model or a lighter than stock version. That twin turbo v6 though looks good for a truck might not sound like all that.

kinda update on the 448AA ecoboost engine, pulling it out of the baja truck and tearing it down. They say and idk for sure...Ford powertrain engineers will tear down an engine that has gone a distance equal to six times around the earth and three quarters of the way to the moon...coming soon. I suppose convincing ppl the turbo 6 is sturdy and parts are good.

The teardown of 448aa blah blah blah.... looks good inside. Seems to be sturdy hope they sell 1000's of these for junkyard use. 65 mustang use etc. It looks very sturdy. crankwalk very low.

A couple of other mags and forums were there to verify it was torn down and parts looked like that. Idk there are always ppl calling bs on anything. I think its real sh-t its built like a tank, 6 bolt mains, forged crank, pistons, hd rods, tri metal bearings, sounds like a racing engine to me. Sounds lot better than say the old buick turbo engine. There were stock cast parts and it did ok. The cylinder liners on ecoboost engine are thicker, why it is smaller than the n/a v6.
