Well as most of you know i'm selling the Evo, because I got a new car.

08 BMW 335xi.

Specs:
-3.0L Inline 6, direct fuel injection
-Factory Twin turbo
-All wheel drive
-6-speed manual
-300hp/300tq stock

The plan is do a few small things like upgrade intercooler, downpipes, intake and a tune and it puts it around 400/400 and should do mid 11's all day without sacrificing the luxury side. Little different then the Evo, but it's a wanted change for me.

The '08 I looked at, fully loaded with a 6-speed was right around $28k. shop around, I have seen them as low as $22k and as high as $40k.

nice damn car! I fell in love with a black one but we are getting married and that shit ain't cheap so... no go for me

The XI's run a little more because they are all wheel drive. I got this one for 27k. Books for around 32k with the options it has and miles. This leather is pricey from the factory, Navigation, other stupid options lol.

The little tricks and luxury things this car has is what makes it so sweet. Things it does for you that normally you'd have to work around or piss with is just nice.

I like how most cars look in White. Also easy to keep clean :)

I was looking at Supra's too, and the only white ones I could find were built to tilt and wanted 45k+ so that wasn't an option.

I never used to like white, but i'm starting to appreciate it a lot more.. especially accented with black.

I will say though, I think it was your dark gray 2gb talon that I remember seeing some pics of when I first joined the site and that thing was drop dead gorgeous. I think it was yours, can't remember. Been a long time.

Ahh, i thought it was his. I tried to find a pic once to show my friend what a 2gb talon looks like, and tried finding one of the pics on here but I think that thread is long gone or buried to far back haha. I just remember it being amazing looking, and I'm not a big 2g fan, but I would of taken that over almost any 1g. Never knew of the 1g, joined too late for that

I had always heard stay away from the AWD 3's but I think that was the E46 3's. Isn't this an E92?

TbTalon94
11-16-2010, 06:28 AM
Yea this is the e9x series. The AWD drivetrains are supposed to be pretty stout. The motor also seams to be taking mods very well. It's all aluminum with iron sleeves. Time will only tell what people can do with it. It's a pretty young motor (07) so we'll see how it goes.

I am the 2nd owner of this car, and the repair history has been VERY clean. BMW has extended the HPFP warranty out to 10yrs or 100,000 miles. I'm not really worried about it. Seams to be a hit or miss on some cars..kind of like crankwalk in 2g's.

Yea that was my gray 2g, my white 1g was also very clean....there's a trend there ;)

Yeah I drove that car back and forth to Laramie Wyoming a few times and it was my daily driver up there, lots of good/scary times in that beast. I was actually a little sad to see it go since it was very reliable and fun to drive for the time I had it. It was kept pretty damn clean and we took good care of it, too bad someone let it fall to pieces.

the guy that bought it wanted to go fast, dumped 5-8k into a new motor turbo and intake, then once it ran it sat outside all winter. and who knows what it lookslike now, it did start rustng bad on the fenders. another DSM for the junk yard.

He also drove it in winter like a year or two another reason why it probably rusted , I wouldnt mind buying it but hes asking way to much i would repair all the rust and clean it all up. He could keep his motor and mods i'd buy the shell and just do a nice set up but im sure he'd want alot for that too lol. Theres noway someone is going to give him 8k might as well part it out.

TbTalon94

Between me and my brother its been through a couple winters as a daily driver so its seen its fair share of snow, hell the drive to laramie was over 12 hours only on hwy 80 and a couple times it was snowing the entire way so that probably wasnt the best on the paint either.

doesn't take much, that's for sure

When I bought the talon from Colton, you could just feel some bubbles/unevenness under the paint where the fenders meet the bumper.
After I sold the laser and had to DD the talon, despite washing it every other damn day, the bubbles came to the surface. One more winter is all it would take to make it actually start obviously showing the rust. Especially if it isn't taken care of/washed consistantly

The worst though is the 2g's and their terrible strut tower rust.. ugggh

TbTalon94
11-18-2010, 09:10 AM
The rust had started when i owned it, but i took REALLY good care of it. I drove it in the winter but washed it regularly and made sure to keep a good coat of wax on it. It went downhill fast after it left my hands.

I know what it looks like now... Its pretty rough, not near as nice looking as in the pictures previously. I know he didn't drive it much in the winter except for the winter after he bought it, but it sat in a snow drift all last winter, and now it has some 16" wheels on it because the 17s need tires. It seems to run good but jesse has it tuned conservative because he doesn't have a knock sensor. I almost got him to go to the track with it last year but a few days before he broke a clutch fork.

11-19-2010, 06:27 AM
Yea seams they are going mid-low 13's in stock form, after a few bolt-ons on a tune it's high 11's low 12's. Pretty good for a big heavy luxury car. Also the bolt-ons are Downpipes, some form of Intake...and a tune lol that's it.

The motors are 3.0L inline 6 all aluminum with iron sleeves. Pretty light motor which makes the car really close to 50/50 weight distribution. It does handle well let me tell ya!

69gt4speed
11-19-2010, 11:03 AM
That sounds good prob tuneable boost and so on. We'll have to line up sometime spring 2011 vs the bmw 335 see what happens. I'm sure ppl here like to see that... I don't care if I lose, minor bolt on vs bolt on.

TbTalon94
11-19-2010, 01:15 PM
After I get a few bolt-ons we can. Right now you'd beat it. I gotta say though, it doesn't FEEL slow. It handles extremely well too, so in the end it makes it a very fun car to drive. I don't have to beat on it and rev it out to get any fun out of it. I can just quick mow through a few gears and get the same satisfaction. I'm lovin it.
