John Shepherd is back in the talon after a big break and with a new setup.

Supposedly a shakedown run down 22psi from his record setting 7.7 pass, just testing the new setup.

Glad to see him finally back out there in the talon.

It's had a solid rear axle for years.

It has just a sequential shifter with a regular dog box manual trans. He did a 1-2-1 shift a few weeks ago and obviously it motivated him to figure something out that won't allow him to do that. Smart move, but he kept to his own trans. Makes sense.

He will definatly be able to hang with the pro FWD guys this year. That is if he decides to compete. From the looks of it he means business.

Yeah he said in an interview back when he first kind of dissapeared for awhile, that the car still had a lot left in it but he needed to make some more changes to feel safe in the car as it was just becoming way to fast to keep in the full street trim that it was in.. I mean hell watch his inside 7.7 pass, its freaking crazy how much he has to work to keep it straight.

Yea he was cutting high 1.2x's and low 1.3x's with the old wheel/tire combo. He now has 10.5 slicks all the way around so he should be able to get it to the high 1.1x's and low 1.2x's. Running 22psi less and still going 8's is crazy.

With the new turbo technology and his new chassis set-up he should go mid-low 7's easy. The MPH probably won't be as high but we all know why.

rumor has it, shep has a 9 sec evo and a 10 second Nissan GTR with exhaust and a tune. going to a 5.0 would be back peddeling... LOL just teasing rob. I think sheps talaon not only got safty up graded but it went on a ground up restore with acid dipping and new paint. It could have been just a romor

1 Trevor I never feel special had always the same crap no matter what the bs I heard from age 16. I am just a college educated guy that got his hands dirty cause was in the genes I guess. Maint. maint. maint. And blame my mech stepdad that went to his garage and drank beer and told me how stuff worked and forbaid me to be a auto mech. As far as I know I might have a couple of yrs left so give a old guy a few words that might have been down a hard road. Never asked for any handouts and beside mech help from stepdad nothing else period. I wanted to do it myself if I could.

2 I invite you or anyone on the board to drive my 2011 around and at end of day you would think this can't be a pos stang and yes as I said x10 my 03 is caveman. I don't care if u said it or not, it is good and I've driven plenty of cars.

3 I was messing w you guys and I am sorry for that. I wanted to see who would respond first now I see. You know I practically begged you Trevor to get in manual runoff, you see me crying I did not win yr 2? I have nothing against you at all but man you know ur car was running could have have beat my 03 as I had issues. Bottom line manual runoff quickest guy won. And I was damn happy more ppl turned out and truth is I spent 50$ and was happy and alive w car ppl a very good thing imo. I like you ppl I never thought my crap go wrong. Well one day u will realize unless they do miracle stuff changes like it or not. W 1 in 3 ppl have heart trouble I bet u know someone and later w/o much improvement could be you. I am not asking for nothing, but like a 70+ yugo vs a 69 428cj stang at the strip you know the outcome. Maybe nobodies fault. Just happens. When I get my car back together Rob i'd come up and let you rip on it for a good hour for just a minute of driving a 2011!! Your car is sick! Don't take anyone seriously on here, we're all just fuckin around. I love the new 5.0 - I'm not a chevy guy, im not a ford guy, im not an overall import guy or anything. But I'm glad to see the mustang finally coming out ahead it seems, and by quite the margin. For as much as they're getting out of the car now, just after being released, It's going to be interested to see how far it gets in say, another 13 years like the LS1.

I know all u ppl have seen me bark about the 2011 plenty but did you ever see me say anything about 2005 to 2010 stang gt besides I beat one . That is fact 100% and I'm ok a stang guy. Why would I? They were slow crusiers imo. The 2010 track pak did ok but never did you ever see me post how great they were.

To just write the 2011 off imo well u going to get a spanking one way or another. And btw for you gm ppl I hope 100% gm is back, why? Imo the stang got better 100%, thank you. I gotta give gm credit.

I'm just glad right now gm is back and I hope they do that ssx and the vette model also. It makes everyone do better imo.

And yes we will have another manual runoff bigger I hope yet. Need to figure somekind of light bolt auto class maybe w a small power adder enhancement or something or just bolt on's.
