So being in the weatherization program I have to vent. This RRP rule needs to be over turned a few things I agree with but this tarping and wipedown for all inside work is BS. I now have 2 hours+ more work with picture taking over about everything, documention and paper work, not including I have to store each and every job a "copy" over all this crap for 3 years!! not to mention the hazard of plastic in winter. If me or my 56 year old dad fall on this plastic (10' out per story) in the winter time and brake something can we sue the EPA for Compenssation and down right stupid work pratice? If the EPA is worried about child safty I guess no more bicycles and no more riding in the car. Parents just watch your kids and dont let them chew on the windows!! EASY FIX!! for those of you not knowing about Lead, it was used in paint prior to 1978. All homes 1978 or before I have to assume they have Lead paint, (I can test it with EPA approved test kits but then there is more time and money in that) All these rules dont just fall for Weathization program, but to anyone that is working on a 1978 house and is disturbing more than 1sqft TOTAL of painted area, or previouse painted areas, so Electricians, plumbers, window installs, insulation, remodelers. and so on. In Iowa you have to pass a test and become a certfied lead Renovator. and send in $60 per man, per year (then you have to take a 4 hours class every 3 years) and your Firm has to be certified as well. add that shit up $60 a person, per year how many contractors, plubers, electricans work on pre 1978 homes?????? here is a few links. EPA: http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/renovation.htm

This is so bull shit and i just thought everyone should know. and oboma is not to blame its the EPA and their Ideas of bull shit.

Thanks to the EPA we now have a $10,000+ fire suppression system and a bunch of different certification classes to take at the shop.
Stupid thing is, if one guy in a shop is certified, he can "teach" everybody else there. "Teach" meaning anything... even just verbally explaining what to do. Ridiculous.

I'm an Electrician Superintendent. You're spot on. It's 1 million percent BS. We're in the process of sending our guys to these classes. It's all about the dollars. Government is looking anywhere they can find for money. With as many people as there are out of work, they aren't getting the taxes they used to. Gotta find it somewhere.

Here's the solution for more money... federal speed cams on the interstate, legalize this and that, collect user taxes. I hear waterloo is next to get cameras. The really pizzer I heard they may consider is doing away w mortgage interest deduction. Sh-t that will def help break the middle class family. And perm give all the rich folks a deduction. Got to have this to do that. I knew I like you for some reason sparkles you should been named sparky or sparks. What I used to be for k.c. mo. I ever show you my tesla coil, I don't use anymore as it blows up electronics esp computers. 1080 watts. About 3 ft to the lamp.

Nice. I've been wanting to build one of those for a while. My electronics teacher in HS made one that was pretty awesome.
