Its a 1942 Izhevsk 91/30 Ex sniper, I do have the bayonet and ammo pouch. I'm just tired of it sitting around.

Well it IS a 42 ex sniper, so its pretty much a guarantee that this rifle has shot a few Germans. 1942 is the height of the German invasion into Russia and more importantly into Stalingrad and sniper rifles were used a ton by the Russians at the time.

If there is a relative amount of interest, I'd be all for it. I'd prefer it is locked so that the general public can't see it, as I have quite the investment in my stuff. But I'm always tinkering: I have stuff back to WWII on up and I'm always curious what other people are working on or selling.

When I messaged Ryan about it he decided against it because it's not auto related and he doesn't think the traffic will keep up over time. I can see where he's coming from since this is an auto site. He said we are more than welcome to post about them in the club house section though.

I just don't want everyone on the planet earth knowing what I have. I'm just a little guarded like that after my house was broken into a few years back. I have an alarm now, but relying on the CRPD is like believing in Obama's hope and change message.

I never do. But this is the technology age, and it's not that difficult to find someone. Chalk it up to experience, if you had been cleaned out once before you'd be a little paranoid too. I don't care about the stuff that is easily replaced, but the heavily modified and rare stuff is a different story. Like I said, if someone gets the ball rolling, I'll join in.

I don't care if someone steals the car, it's just been sitting in my garage for the past 6 years anyways. And no, my car doesn't exceed the value of my gun collection. I think my SVD Tiger is worth roughly what a car is....

Just trying to wrap my head around the logic.
Out in the open we now have your car and that you have a sizeable/high dollar gun collection w/ the specifics on one of the higher value examples and that you have an alarm system. I fail to understand how posting pics of your guns opens makes you any more "vulnerable" than you already are.

Well, the statements arose long before you argued your way into what you now know. Not being a dick, but back when I asked about it being locked, you knew none of that. Only the people in a locked forum would have. As for all of what I have stated, for all you know I'm talking out of my ass and own nothing, including that car. i would think people would shy away from robbing a house of a gun enthusiast. not to mention other types of stolen items from any random 1/2 million dollar+ home would be easier to sell. but then again thiefs aren't that smart

Did you just make my point? I havent argued anything you offered this stuff up on your own, I'm simply trying to understand why you would be worried about pics of your guns when there are much more informative things right out in the open.
Not only do collectors weapons cater to few interests but they are easy to track and hard to sell. If someone was browsing the forum planning to steal something I dont think they would care about the gun collection in your basement when faced w/ Joe's cars or say Jesse's car. Theyre easier to access, they move under their own power, and worth more.
I'm just going to agree to disagree.

People only know what you let them know is what he's saying. Do you think it being locked is going to make any difference? Just narrowing the margins of who knows is about all. Who's to say someone in that forum isn't going to want your stuff.
