Here we go again.

It's very filthy, just got home from driving it back 4 hours picking it up and its all dirty from everything from dust to splattered bugs, and the lighting from my camera's flash makes it look even worse.

Going to get a good thorough cleaning tomorrow and some nicer pictures.
All stock down to the exhaust.

yep stock down to the exhaust, does have some sway bars and subframe connectors, feels almost as good as my firebird did in the turns.. my firebird had about everything for suspension.

Already ordered SLP Lid and SLP LM Catback last night for it, that's going to be it for awhile while I fix little issues.

I bought it kind of with the idea of cleaning it up and making it real nice (not that it already is) and possibly flipping it in the spring and using the extra money + whatever I save up to buy a 1g dsm shell and build it from the ground up, but the z28 is already growing on me a lot.

I usually don't care for the 98-02 Camaro bodystle at ALL, but in the black I do enjoy it.
Interior I actually like a lot, the seats are SO god damn comfortable.. I always wanted these in my firebird and for good reason.

I joke with my friends how I traded out my domestic Illinois built DSM for my imported Canadian built f-body :P

These are little itty bitty issues compared to the DSM :)

Coolant level sensor, brake pads, shifter rod & knob and leaking power steering line.

Pads are already halfway on, just took a break now to come in and eat, still got the passenger side to go yet.

After that junk there won't really be anything really wrong with it.
I'm hearing that I'll have a lot of fun installing headers :banghead:

Anyway, as promised here's some new pictures.
Still not washed due to the high chance of rain today and shitty weather in general but it still looks better without the stupid flash.

Also, question to other LS1 camaro owners, has anyone here found anything asides from blackouts to do to the headlights?
My least favorite thing on these cars is probably the headlights, but blackouts just dont appeal to me, I may tint the tails but that'd be it.

I've been looking for something like some gunsmoke'd headlights or something like I bought for my Mustang, i LOVED those and I think it'd make this look 3x better.

pretty simple...take headlights out of car...2 10mm bolts to take them out. one on top its pretty obvious which one it is, and a bolt on the same bracket on the back of the headlights itself... then slide the whole headlight to the outside of the car (there are locking grooved tabs for them) then take the headlights place them on a block of wood and put them in the oven at 150 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the clear silocone is loose, take all the clips off headlight and remove lense. tape off the back of the headlight, and then take 600 grit sand paper and sand the surface your going to weant to paint...take a good quality black spray paint ( i used krylons plastic-x or something, its specifically for plastic) and shot a really like tack coat then did 2 more fairly heavy coats afterwards. let them dry over nite. re siliconed the bead around the lense and put headlights back together and re clipped them......let me know if ui need pics or anything, as i can do that to help ya out

Correct STS/rear mount kits are dumb as they sit under the car and have mile long small ic pipping, with the price of the kit you could do nitrous kit, bolts ons, 12 bolt going to need it sense your car is manual, h/c and get a built t56

I agree front turbo kits are better but there are plenty of rear mount kits that run 9's and are not gutted tin cans. maybe not the most efficient but dynos and time slips don't lie. these are lagier too.

i've posted this before but nitrous is always the cheapest bang for the buck for drag racing or winning a street race but I'm not a fan of nitrous for street driving. you can burn through a bottle of nitrous a day if your not conserving it. So theres a $55 refill plus your time to drive around and refill it. plus there is no part throttle abilities just wot. can't really control the nitrous with the throttle but you can do part throttle with turbo and control the boost. you would never go around a twisty road activating nitrous but you can with turbo building partial boost. when i had nitrous is just not as enjoyable for screwing around daily driving.

well im not looking to get insane with the car.

I had my first real night of beating on it, boy that 6speed is something I'll have to get used to. It takes so much grunt to slam the gears, I'm so used to the talon its ridiculous. My buddy who had his C5 Bolt on 6speed LS1, and now has a 08 bolt on Z06, drove it and slammed the gears flawlessly, felt great for stock.

I definitely need to work on my driver mod!!

Looks like a 98-99 too? Didn't see a year, but the slave cylinders had some issues up until late 00' models, which will give you a slow engage and sometimes doesn't want to come back up in my case. My friend with the civic said he'd never touch an fbody, all the fbody guys around here are my friends but are all into LT1's and hate LS1's for some reason.

Ironically my buddy with the civic drove it and really liked it and is willing to help me work on it while the fbody guys don't want to really help with much on it.

Found out a few things tonight.
I really know nothing when it comes to suspension, however my car being pretty much stock motor-wise, has GINORMOUS amounts of suspension work. Professionally done subframe connectors, massive swaybars, panhard bars, along with more.

So i decided to actually for once to put the car through its paces and got it into some twisties, and holy bejesus.. I've NEVER imagined a fbody handling corners and shit so well.

Although I found my rear pinion seal is leaking, poopy. But w/e.

At minimum you'd want the centerforce dual friction (some questionable reviews on how much power this really holds) or the centerforce dfx of which I've seen some good reviews on. $400 and $450 range .

I could not agree more I really believe long term w a d/d the tokico d specs are the sh=t. Expensive, u gotta buy 4 but that's my plan w the 2011. I def like my drag stuts on 03, it can drive like a crown vic on the hiway set at like 2. lil wobbly but rides well. Poly bushings go that path cheapest way for sure and grease those good w good syn grease, don't want those squeaking.

And like zee said don't mount slicks for track, if you do it will slip real soon. Seen it so many times with a gm esp. At least the tranny may hold up w a t56.
