anyone want my t76 turbo journal bearing , 1000 horsepower capable? I would like to try dropping down a size or two since my car is so light and 6 speed and low gearing and my motor isn't forged so all that hurts spool. .96 a/r . full size compressor cover t76, not the cheaper tc76.

spools not really that bad maybe 10psi at 3700 rpm's on my stock 346 cubes. I'm looking for some really strong low quick boosting turbo around 3100 rpms and I don't need the max horsepower potential this one has

$775 still under warranty

I get 2lbs of boost at 3200. But thats on a 3.0L and a billet DBB one ;)

I'd run it. It's got room to grow with future airflow upgrades. Not like the car will do any better with more torque at the track. I can always build you a forged 347 :)

Or would you suggust a forged 383 if i want it to be a supra killa ?

Well I wouldn't go that far, but for boost a stock cube engine is perfect. More overall piston height sets the pin further down and keep plenty of space to keep a nice fat top ringland. If you wanted to make some huge power I would

1. Build engine
2. hand port heads (aftermarket = better but more $$$$$$$$$$$$)
3. add turbo cam
4. 3.5" downpipe/exhaust

Most of the internet guys build big 427's and what not, but if you need to move more air you could always run a solid roller cam and take advantage of higher rpm horsepower. Most lsx stuff only revs out to 7k or so with a hydraulic roller cam. Big valves, and agressive cams are hard to control at high rpm with a hydraulic lifter. It's trick to make big power under 7k in v8 world. Torque breaks parts (engines included) and most v8 turbo stuff makes much more peak torque than the import stuff.

In your situation just adding a cam will gain 50+ hp I'd guess. Much more than that you will need more fuel, etc. I'd just finish off the car and enjoy it before tearing it apart already.

Doesn't sound too bad. You'd have to think my setup should be spooling up a lot faster than yours, even though yours is ball bearing. guess it just depends on how you test spool. i was doing 3rd gear which is pretty low in my car. spool in 4th is quite a bit sooner.

I'd imagine you have high compression?
