I was just diagnosed with it in my left knee. Trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible. Just wondering if anyone out there knows the ropes with it. What kind of medication works/doesn't, long term effects, etc. etc.

I HATE taking medications and would much rather use some type of "natural" medication then pill popping for the rest of my life.

My mom does in both of her hands... Not too knowledgeable on it to be honest but I know she literally takes like 10+ pills a day. Most of it is natural junk like Fish oil and such but she has to take an actual medication too or it is extremely painful.

so what do you have to do for it? Like how many pills and crap? is it painful?

Aleve every day or generic over the counter 4 of them split every 12 hrs. Then if it really acts up a cortisone shot where it is bad if really desperate. And or predisone. What mom does. Weather changes etc. make it flare up more. Wish the best man. Mom had it at ur age and now is 75.

I'm on Prednisone right now.

We'll see what the doctor says when I go back in on Tuesday.

They put you on steroids for that? Care full with those. I was on them for 6 months. Just get used to taking meds like me. 12 pills a day :/

Yea that prednisone stuff can make you stay up for days and make you go crazy. They had me take 40mg a day for those headaches for 2 wks. Nothing to toy with. And it eats muscle tissue. A certain amount of inflammation by lifting weighs etc. builds you, well that stuff keeps inflammation down so w long term use you have lil muscle left. If that makes sense....
