Yea jon huber has that turbo 4, it's a wheelie machine. I'm sure he's on youtube. And that's a pinto based engine.

Looks like I'd almost have fun doing a timing belt job on that!

Yeah i am using a 9" Hughes that stalled at 5600 I'm sure its gna be tight but its all I have right now with so much money going different ways. That's whats its gna be to get it on the road.

is it possible to use anti lag with an auto?

Scott
08-11-2010, 02:56 PM
Im really not sure how that would work, I have seen it done before thats for sure. The only problem is the engine is under a huge load anyway with the trans brake on and WTO. I think thats how alot of intercoolers and intake plumbing gets blown up, I know Ryan was experimenting with it on his 93 cobra with the 5.4 mod motor in it.

NitrousMike

using antilag will be the opposite from using a manual since its under load. Manual cars like to have timing retarded quite a bit for anti lag, on a auto use more timing to help keep the convertor flashed, to little timing will have bad results.

I cant tell ya took the sticker off. is that a billet 6262 on their or something larger? Looks like fun, we all saw trents a few weekends back at the dyno. Those two cars lined up would be a great sight to see.

I would think the fox might be lighter than the duster. Isn't that the frankenmopar or something?

Interesting... I weighed mine with the cage in before I put the engine and trans in and it was under 1450 I looked online at what the engine and trans weigh and they are about 500 lbs. for the pair. after adding the rest of the stuff in there intercooler piping, fluids, kids seat, navigation and some wiring and I'm hoping I'll be under 2500 I saw a vid on youtube of Hubers car and it said his weight was 3000 lbs. 500 lbs is a ALOT!

That is cool. Love unique swaps. I remember joking about this idea with a friend of mine a while ago about having a 4g63 in a proven chassis (cause we'd never do it, we're broke and lazy, not that its a bad idea) so its cool to see someone really doing it.

Yeah pretty unique I was telling George about it at the track a few months ago he about fell down when I told him I was putting a DSM engine in it.

the newest F&F? I should probably watch that sometime. When did that come out? Just wondering because I mentioned doing it on here like 3-4 years ago.

that was the 3rd one. from like 06. The newest one I think they actually wreck every single car you see.

Just checked it out, they did an RB26 swap in a '67 mustang... 2JZ in a '73 Mach One is OK to do still. :)

Bread you should make a build thread on here if you've got the time. Even though you're across the country there is a lot of interest in unique builds on this site and I for one would like to see how it turns out.

As a turboford guy I have always been jealous of the 4G63 cylinder head and its flow capabilities. If only ford would have went through with the DOHC 2.3 lima instead of going with the dual plug setup. This is a great build, glad to see people who aren't scared to do new things.

I've heard you can get a Volvo DOHC head on the Lima 2.3. That would really make that SVO interesting.

Yea, Ive thought about it but its a hard sale to the wifey when I just spent money to get it repainted. So possibly a few years down the road.
