Hey guys... Landon (my three year old son for those who don't know) had some severe abdominal pains, vomiting and a really high fever last light. We have spent from 9pm-9am in the ER and finally he was diagnosed around 10am with appendicitis. They of course had to give him an appendectomy which was doe at noon. However, when they got in there they found out it was actually ruptured. So now there is apparently a fairly high chance of an infection and other complications.

As of right now it looks like we will be there for a minimum of 3 days but maybe longer. Please, keep Landon in your thoughts/prayers.

Man that's bad news, Anita almost died over infection and it shut down her intestines. Keith I'll be praying for him for sure.

poor guy. Hope everything goes well.
I had the same issue a couple years ago. Ruptured appendix and I ended up staying in the hospital 5 or 6 days. Not fun at all.

He is up at Mercy Hospital... Landon Schutte, room 33-28 in Pediatrics.... Looks like he is going to be up there a couple more days. His white blood cell count has came down a lot from the 16,000+ it was at but it is still too high. Fever is down as well, it was at 103~, not quite back down to normal but just barely over 100* now...

thanks for the prayers/best wishes guys!

Hey guys... Well, he is doing much better today! He is already up and beating the snot out of people. My uncle brought him up some of those big balloons with a rubber band that you put on your hand and then smack 'em or whatever, "punch balloons" or something...

We haven't got the lab results back yet to see how is white blood cell count is doing but HOPEFULLY it is good, that would mean we could come home tomorrow! Poor kid misses his dogs and wants to ride his motorcycle!!

GOOD NEWS!!! he actually gets to come home today! His white blood cell count is back to almost normal and he finally started eating (stole the sausage of my S/E/C biscuit when I wasn't looking) so they are starting all of the paper work now and he should be home within a few hours!!!

Thanks again for the thoughts/prayers guys! I hope Landon (and Skye/me) never has to go through anything like this again! It is the worst feeling in the world for your child to be begging you to make the pain stop and to make the doctors leave him alone and not be able to do anything about it.

We came home last night! I know people say kids will "bounce right back" but holy crap! The second he got home he was right back to normal. jumping off shit, wrestling/trying to ride the dogs, jut going ape ship in general!

I am a nervous wreck now because I am scared he will rip his incision back open or something. I am like "how about we just sit and watch a movie" like he didn't have enough of that the last four days in the hospital! lol Nice day today so we will probably get outside and enjoy the weather! I have some pics I am going to post up sooner or later. Couple little videos as well...
