it's a '90Talon TSI, AWD, 5-speed, 130K miles. factory dark blue/silver paint, nothing much in the "performance department" but that is kind of what I am looking for. It has the fallowing done to it. NXS manual boost controller, N1 3" turbo muffler with 3" exhaust, Dual pillar pod with tinted boost gauge, K&N air filter, crushed bov, NGK spark plugs, runs ful synthetic motor oil. Along with some new parts like battery, slave cylinder, ECU, new rims/tires, blacked out tail lights, etc...

Sounds like a good starting point. Only thing I don't like about it is being a 90 - they can be a pain in the ass compatibility wise with parts/etc to my knowledge but all 90 owners seem to say you eventually memorize everything thats different and adapt. Other then that though sounds like a good car.

I'd say try to pick it up for the 2.5k area, can't say for sure since I can't see/hear it run/drive.

I just miss my old '90 TSI that I sold to Brent and have been wanting another one pretty bad lately. something I can use as a "daily driver" but still tinker with.

the TB and the cruise control are unique on the 90's- i believe the ECU is as well. i believe 90's were the only year that had an external oil cooler though. at least you'll be sure it's a 6 bolt. i'd offer $1800 and see what they say- go from there.

Eh, $3400 asking seems to be about the average for a decent AWD 1g that people ask.
real value though is definitely in the 2k area though. I'd pay $2500 at the most

well, asking $3400, I can see why. He just had a baby and needs something bigger so I offered him the Durango (without the system of course). He said he would really like to get the system too (because new born babies love the bass) but I told him the system alone is worth more than his car. Not being a dick about it or anything, just telling him the cold, hard truth...

It isn't a 69 camaro or stang but like my 94 tbird and that means nothing almost. The f&f is long gone and all used prices have dropped recently. Long term be better buying a domestic besides maybe a supra, been proven many times as far as common cars go.

parts wise; you could probably get close to $1k out of it pretty easily; i know you said it was a decently nice car- but id pretty much plan on it being parted out.

Yeah, I told him I was not interested in the trade...

I am going to look at a '97 Mustang GT this weekend though, hopefully it is what he says because I would love to own another mustang...

Smart ass... SN95 is the only mustang I have not owned yet and I have always liked them. Is a nice Burnt orange looking color with black leather interior, 4.6L, 5-speed... Only thing I don't like is that is has 22"s on it... I bet I could sell those for enough to get a set of 17 x 9/10.5 Bullits though...
