Where do you guys go to dyno?

I was considering seeing Black Widow... or what used to be.
I'm assuming they have a DynoJet.

Any other local places?

I wanna see how pitiful my Regal is after finally getting tuned.
311whp on a JUNK tune and a messed up trans.
Expecting 350+whp... not bad for stock heads/bottom end.
Cam, exhaust, intercooler, tune.

Black widow has a superflow Dyno, It has a heavy roller so im sure it reads lower. but again it all depends on if someone tweaked the software to read what ever it wants.

Drive down to RevHard, maybee 50min away, have Jon toss it on the rollers, shit he might charge you $50/$75, that what I did when I first bought the Silver car, made 2 pulls for $50.00.

Another vote to Rev Hard. PM drfast4ward on here or go to http://www.revhardinc.com/ to set up a time. I had planned on getting a tune there last summer but I moved to GA and never got the chance.

Superflows do generally read a little lower, but are VERY repeatable. You can gauge your progress accurately, I have seen graphs done months apart that line up almost exactly. Dynos arent about numbers, its about being able to see if the changes you make have the desired effect. I have pulls on dynojets, mustangs, and dynopacs that you counldn't repeat the same graph with back to back pulls.

Hey guys, wasn't quite ready to announce yet but making big changes, first and foremost clean this pigsty reorganize. when I am finished I will post to let you all know, I want to have Iowa Auto Forums Dyno Day, there will be no tuning that day, but would gladly schedule you for another day. for the Iowa Auto Forums Dyno Day every run will be 25.00 but wont schedule a day until you have 20 to 25 members.. this is all open for duscussion.
if one of your admins would like to start a sign up list that would be great.

I'd be down for a dyno-day. I'm sure Kitch, Dan, and probably the cobra brothers would be down too.

I'd be down for a dyno day.
Then I can actually answer when people ask me how much power I am making.

Well at that place he set my tires forward of rollers, don't let anyone do that anywhere. I got seriously 10 more wheel hp w the nitrous on and a pile of rubber. If you have a cop setup don't know if he has the right pickup for like a late model ford. Gm be fine as they have hv wires. So I got no rpms and 448 whp w s/c only and 458 whp w nitrous pretty funny but I was ticked at the time. My hoosier drag radials wore off a lot. Set tires either on top or better a tiny bit in back of rollers, look at many videos you will see, I was a dumb azz at the time. That way tires dig in to rollers.

Trent @ rev hard if a rwd add about 10%, I got about 381 whp there, same tune setup as bw. Nitrous added got 496 whp. Whatever reason it reads somewhat low compared to a dynojet. Don't do illinois dyno they exaggerate the readings. Not trying to start anything just my results vs several 400+ dynojet cars on a roll w no tire spin w the s/c only. And Jesse's supra and that red camaro on a roll w nitrous.

If I had some extra $ right now, maybe later get a couple small trophies for a dyno day. Maybe one for n/a hi whp and another for whatever goes, both for street cars only. Not some damn race car. We know they make whp. Be kinda fun and apples to apples so to speak. Ya the sticks have a advantage I admit. Don't enter in contest then. Have Trent if you want to keep it secret he could make a list of the cars and whp. I know he would be a stand up guy and then hand out the trophies to hi whp winners. Just a idea to get mo cars. Lets say winner in both gets the dyno video posted that way we have a goal? Ideas?

ADMIN:

Set up a sign up sheet or something, get the ball rolling on this and see if we can get 25 people down their. Should make for an intersting caravan of cars!

Dyno day somewhere would be sweet.

The car will hopefully be done by the weekend. Need to swap valve springs real quick like, but thats it.

I'll go as long as nobody makes fun of the Regal.... lol :HEYYOU:

I'm more than down. I'd like to see how my combo is working right now, and how much my exhaust helps/hurts mostly.

I always wanted to build a GTP but it seems like so few ever make it past like mid 13's without switching to a turbo setup or something

So... about this sign up sheet?

FiFdYnUtZ
06-25-2010, 05:11 PM
lol thats far from the truth, i used to be pretty heavy into gtps..easy money from unsuspecting people on the street, and they arent all that difficult to get into the 12's, 11's...seen it many times without a turbo..

69gt4speed
06-26-2010, 02:28 AM
^ Well maybe but around here I've seen mostly in 13's on tbird vs gtp races. I've seen 3 events anyway. what the ones u talking about put down whp and the weight?

11.99s or bust this year!!
S/C all the way too. Stock block+bottom end, stock heads, and a stock S/C from a 06 GTP.

FWD is ghey and I've had trans problems forever... but all will be well by early next week.

If you know what you are doing... you can go 12s for cheap.
My problem was starting out not knowing what I was doing! If I got to do it again with the same amount of money, low 11s would be cake.
