I've got a shitty 10bolt under my car with 3.23's its fun and all but the moment I slap any sticky tires on it and launch it hard I know I'll blow the rear end out. Any reasonably priced ones out there? And how hard is it to convert a 9" over to a third gen F-body?

I really wish I would of kept my 9bolt rear end out of my firebird and put a 10bolt in it when I sold it. Probably could of got some decent money for it or kept it for myself just incase :P

Preferably looking for a Ford 9" or a GM 12 bolt. The 12 Bolt would be easier to work with. I just can't seem to find any used ones around than can get freshened up and thrown in.

Don't even waste your time converting it to a 9" unless you're going to be converting gear ratios all the time for road racing. The 12 bolt conversion is much easier and less expensive.

I never had any problems converting to a 9 inch of course I got the one designed for a camaro. I actually sold my old one to my uncle.

No I'm not Jake lol. I just figured if I do anything else to my car, might as well be able to put the power to the ground without catastrophic failure.

an 8.5 10 bolt done right will hold the power fine and may be easier to find? Those 7.5 10 bolts under the third gens were just a mistake in my opinion.

The problem lies in the spring perches and the control arm mounts with any rear diff he buys.
