Seeing everyone racing has kicked me in the ass, and over the winter I didn't do to much with the car. But I knew if I wanted to turn up the wick this year to keep up with everyone it needed more fuel. So I had to bite the bullet and completely redo the entire fuel delivery system, from bigger pump's, lines, filters, regulator, and injectors. I also got a new fuel tank and this really cool sump from Aeromotive, it holds 3 gallons and welds up inside the tank, its supposed to let you run the fuel tank almost to empty without starvation problems on the street, as with the previous sump I had to stay above a 1/4 tank or the pump(s) would start to cavitate.

Here is a shitty pic:

I was hoping to make it to Cordova this weekend but without testing im not going to come that far, hope you guys do well. I will post the rest of the fuel system pictures when I get home on Friday.

Looks good man, it will be nice to see what power it can make now without running out of fuel for once! What did you run for a fuel system before?

Thanks Scott, previously I had twin Aeromotive eliminator pumps, -10 feed -8 return lines with and Aeromotive A1000 regulator and 12 160lb/hr injectors. I now have -12 feed line -10 return, one Aeromotive eliminator pump and one Aeromotive pro pump, -12 weldon post filter, two -12 Aeromotive pre-filters, 8 235lb/hr injectors and an Aeromotive pro series regulator.

Should be enough fuel for 1700hp, more than my little 8.50's cage will support.

Yeah I hear that! I think Im going to stay away from the funny car cage unless I decide to build a actual drag car which wont be made with the same car, that aint happening for a loong time. That fuel system sounds killer man, I take it your running the 2 pumps in series? Those must be the moran injectors

that will be sweet! should save a lot of weight being able to run less fuel...

Yeah im not up on the funny car cage idea either, especially in a street car. The pumps are in parallel with a one way check valve on the outlet of Pro pump to prevent back flow when I'm only running the eliminator during regular driving and under boost the pro pump starts. For the injectors they are Moran's 235lbers with the ability to go all the way up to 600lb/hr if needed, hopefully should be the last set of injectors I ever buy.

Hows your car coming?

I like that idea for the fuel pumps!! I was going to run 2 pumps in parellel like that but just with a couple ball valves on the output, I just dont know about those 1 way valves, seems like they would restrict flow to me. Im sure they're fine but I just hate extra moving parts I guess.

Cars coming along pretty good, funds ran out as soon as circle track started again so Im getting held up!! I would like to hear the motor run within the next couple months and hopefully make some events this year. I still need to do some header work, get the wiring figured out for the second stage, plumb fuel for the 2nd stage, get a new ignition box so I can pull more timing, get the trans done and paid for.. I guess I have more to do than I thought! I just want to run consistant with the tail pipes on it and get the car sound so I can just drive it to the track and back a few times since I've never done that before

Going to cordova this sat? Im gonna go watch and have a few brews if you wanna stop up, should be a good show

Sick I thought I had a nice fuel system..lol With that e98 I bet if you give it hell you will drain the tank in about 2 minuets flat. haha

The check valve is made by Aeromotive and not suppose to affect flow at all, I've been using it for the last 5 years or so without issue, now that I've said that it will prolly cause problems.

I would like to come but I think we are going racing at the local track Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend so I can be ready for the Brainerd race the following weekend. There should be some heavy hitters at Cordova for sure.

Thanks, yeah it takes a little over two gallons from burnout and back to the pits per pass. On the street you can watch the gas gauge fall every time I get after it.

Here is almost everything but the regulator as its on the car already, I also have the -16 breather hose and fittings in this picture.

Lets see last time it was Ryan vs Scotty for the finals, correct? Might as well take a 5 gal can of e85 and dump it down the mtr for every run. And Scotty 10# of nitrous a run.
