she is SOLID and has roughly 75K miles. it's an 82ish Mercury Capri with a Mustang front end some sort of body kit, fiberglass "cobra" spoiler and fiberglass hood. First thing is to try and get som6 quarter windows back in it because that is UGLY! Then I am dropping in the 460/C6, pretty simple and quick "build" for this one.

UGLY, but the potential is def. there!

The first thing I am doing is taking all of the fiberglass/urethane stuff off and putting it in my garage. Dudes jeep around the corner had his racing seats and 5-point harnesses stolen a while back so I am not taking any chances! I mean I have like 6 500watt flood lights on a motion sensor setup back there which lights up the whole alley but you never know...

LOL... don't think that would fit in the $1K budget I am trying to stay within.

if its a Capri, you should stick with the Capri front end if you can find one. i love the looks of the mid 80's Capris.

I am pretty sure it is an '82 Capri... I need to check the VIN but from what I remember about the VIN's I am fairly sure...

I am going to leave it as it sits as far as the overall "look" except for the quarter glass area. Other than that just a quick gutting, roll cage and then the engine. I personally am not a fan of the 80's front ends at all.

Well, being mothers day, I only had about an hour to work on it but I got it completely gutted (except dash which I am keeping in there) and I got those nasty things off the quarter windows as well! This week I am going to start stripping the paint, I am going to try that aircraft stripper first and hope that works. The shit is literally falling off the car so I doubt it will take much. I got about 50% of the roof off just with a puddy knife.

got some parts rolling in finally... starting with my cam/valvetrain, roller rockers, studs, mounts, hooker headers, Canton oil pan etc. Just waiting on the actual engine/trans itself now which I will be picking up Sunday. Here is a breakdown of my engine for those who care...

76 block, crank, rods with flat top pistons (11:1~ with my D0VE heads)
ported D0VE heads (Miloden S.S. 2.250/1.725 valves)
Lunati 61605 camshaft
PRW 1.73 Stainless Steel roller rockers
Lunati 73815K5LUN valve spring kit
Lunati 80766 Hardened 5/16 push rods (thought about 3/8"s but I think I will be fine)
CompCams 4834-8 guide plates
2" headers into 3" duals dumping just before the rear end
Performer RPM intake (port patched to heads)
Holley 850 D.P.
3200-3500 stall T.C.

Should be good for 500hp+ I would think. The heads came off of a N/A 514cu.in, mid 9-second Torino that weighed in just over 3100 so they should support upwards of 800HP~ if I am not mistaken

I cannot say it HAS gone 10's... It has gone 11.4's with the old 3.90 open rearend when it was N/A. I got one run in (11.5X), the next run was an 11.43 so I had to trailer it, haven't been back since. I now have a 200 shot on it as well as a 4.10 LSD and 10.5" slicks and few other small things. I haven't been back to the track because I don't have a roll cage in it yet and they won't let me run without one so. The car weighs in about 2500 with me and 1/2 tank according to the scale at City Carton

The mustang should be in the 500hp-550hp range and will weigh in under 3000lbs so it should have 10's in it I would think...

EDIT: Also have a shift kit in the C4 now as well as a trans and oil cooler and stiffer springs in the rear. Only real issue now is that I took the radiator out to put in the SC and I don't have my gauges re-wired yet from doing the EFI to carb swap...
